Also saying effective parenting would negate the influence is extremely naive as well. There is no way to negate the effect society and pop-culture has on people without locking your child in their room and not letting them read the any current ,newspapers, magazines, literature, use the internet, or watch tv and movies.
Oh, yes, my friend there is. It's called active parenting, and it's how I was raised, so don't tell me it isn't possible. No one says that being a parent is easy. It's a hard thing to do, but it is their responsblity.
It's really sad that it's as simple to get away with something as to say that I did because I saw it on tv. I never did anything I saw on TV, because my parents made sure to parent. Madonna, or a game maker or a model or a teenager, are not your children's parent. It's not her responsablity to censor herself or the real world for your children, that's their parent's job.
You seem naive to me. I don't believe a single person here is saying that a celebrity should be able to do anything. Madonna's sexual, oh boy that's evil, you say. She's not murdering anyone, doing drugs, or even telling children to behave a certain way. She's just being who she wants to be, and that's something that is not actively hurting anyone.
So, now sex is allowed, but evil? The elephant in the room. I've known everything there is to know about it, but I've never done it, have I? I've seen it on TV since I was a child, but I didn't do it at nine, did I?
But you know what, sex is not something to be ashamed, not something that should be hidden and not talked about. IF anything, that's what makes people do it, because it's the "bad" thing to do.
Sex is not "dirty", it's part of life. The real world is not censored.
Parents should not be allowing their children to listen to sexual music, should they? That's their job, it's what they're there to do. When I was a kid, I didn't watch movies that were rated over pg-13, and then sometimes not them. Most parents just don't care anymore.
Research, this a message board, I wasn't aware that I was wrtting a thesis. If that's the case, let's see MLA citation of your sources.
