Earlier in the game, you find out that even after you defeat sin, he will keep coming back. But WHILE Sin is gone, it creates the 'calm', where everyone can sleep in their beds comfortably for a short period of time, and just chill. Everyone knew that.

But why the hell, when you go to Yunalesca, everyone suddenly freaks out about the fact that it is true? It just seems like an unreasonable temper tantrum to me.

It's like if I was about to take you to a mall for several hours, but I was not going to buy you food. When we got into the car, you said that was alright, and wouldn't be hungry. But after four hours at the mall, you suddenly start crying because you want food really bad, but have no money. I TOLD you beforehand that we were not getting any food, and you didn't mind, but now that you're here, you're freaking out at me.

WHAT IS WITH THIS? I just thought this was an odd scene and thought the characters should have remembered what to expect?

Ermm I cant remember the full scene. But I'm sure this "spaz" out wasn't all about the reincarnation of sin even after defeating him.

I havent played this game story-wise in ages but I can remember they got into some disagreement (Yunalesca and Auron) I'm sure it is explained.
But I think it was that it is revealed that someone has to be used as a sacrifice in order to summon the final aeon, and in the last case it was Jecht.

Didn't they know that Yuna had to die in order to call the Final Aeon? Or are you saying both Yuna AND another person had to die?

Both Yuna and a second person one of her gaurdians/someone she trusted, had to die to call forth the final aeon. The exact same thing happened ten years ago prior to the journey, Jecht offered to be the sacrifice (That's where they made the promise the he goes over to dream zanarkand to watch over Tidus). If I can remember in a flashback ten years ago Auron went back (after defeating Sin) to the temple to confront Yunalesca and failed. READ IF YOU'VE COMPLETED:
that's why he's an unsent and died at the end of X when Yuna peforms the sending.

What they were really pissed about is the fact that Yevon states that sin can be exercised with full atonement, and this is not true. They were angry about the lies and false hope

They all knew Yuna had to die in order to call forth the final aeon. What they didn't know (other than Auron, though Tidus may have had a hint) was that a guardian had to sacrifice themself to become the final aeon, hence making them the next Sin. That, and, as stated above, that the whole, atonement can get rid of Sin thing turnt out to be a load of bull, which was getting them all through each day. Sad times.

It wasn't the fact that Yuna was going to die that made everyone flip out it was the fact that when she said sin would never be gone, even with the Yevon teachings that everyone :spaz: out. That with the Final Aeon that it will turn the next person into sin.

Thats what the Spazing out was all about, the fact that all the teachings and everything else they knew was a lie and everyone in Spira was believing in the lie.

did you not pay attention to the game?

they 'spaz out' because they learn the cycle is endless, they expect the calm to come once they have attoned for their Sins, but not only do they learn that this isn't the case, they also discover one of their friends also has to die who will eventually become the next Sin
