In the broken world, not a sound could be heard. For what life that remains is sealed away, not stepping into the light. For on the outside, demons prowl the streets and kill anything that is not of their kind. Within the secret compounds of the DRF, what humans remain alive fight for their very survival to rid themselves of the mistake of misplaced trust.

Letting out a huge yawn, Richard awoke in his barracks. yet another boring day, Richard wondered to himself if anything fun would happen, whether demons would launch an attack or perhaps he'd be sent on a raid, just something to rid himself of the intense boredom of standby.

As he was about to lay back and relax on his arms his eyes caught sight of a woman walking by. While a female in the military was still a strange sight to him, he wasn't one to be sexist about it, in fact... It made the days of boredom slightly less dull. Getting out of bed he pulled on his beret, which had fallen off while he slept and after a minor adjustment he placed it on his head before leaving his room.

Walking forward one step at a time, the screams of a thousand souls lingering in her ears with a delightful resonance, Amelia checked after ward, the corpses of the long dead strewn about, pierced, burnt, crushed and mutilated by demonic, inhuman sources. Their blood was splattered across the walls and ceilings, and Amelia took in the scene and scent with triumphant satisfaction.

But another scent lingered in the hospital for the damned! Life! Two pinpricks, to be precise. Amelia tilted her head to the side, smiled, and walked on towards it with slow determination, past the feeding demons around her, and into Ward B-2

There they were! A mother and child, huddled in the corner. How sweet. The mother pushed the child, a twelve year old boy, away, and Amelia let him sprint past and out the door without even looking at him.

Demons were intelligent, but when they found their prey... Vicious howls of delight filled her eyes, and the agonised screams of the child. The mother screamed as she realized what was happening to her boy, and Amelia allowed the mother to dwell in devastation for a moment, before walking forward and pulling the woman up, slamming her against the wall as the child's yells were cut off, and extended her teeth to gleaming points, sinking them into the woman's throat.

The woman gasped, her mouth and eyes remaining wide open as she convulsed a few times, but no more sound left the mother's mouth as her eyes rapidly drained of the bright light that was life, before slumping to the ground.

Licking her lips briefly with a satisfied smile, Amelia walked elegantly out the door, black dress swishing around her legs before she slammed the door shut on the dead woman behind her with a final click.

Ken had been traveling for almost a month, but has been unable to find where the demons were hiding. He had been searching for them ever since that fateful day in his town. He was sure that it would not take so long to find them, so he did not bring that much supplies.

"Damn, I'm hungry." He said to himself. "If only I had been smart and brought that extra stuff I was thingink about."

As he was saying that, he heard something behind him. He stopped and pulled out his sword. When he turned around, he saw a wolf behind him. He took a step forward and the wolf lunged at him. He took one swing, and killed the wolf.

"Looks like I got some food for a bit anyways." He said as he picked up the wolf.

Keiyu stood in a stationary area, devoid of all life. He was still enough to be thought of as a shadow, but the red hair-like fibers were pulsing from his breathing, and his wings red pockets were growing plump and falling back to normal. He seemed to be staring if one were to look at his head, but in reality, the eyes on his shoulder's were closed, so he really couldn't see anything.

After a few moments of standing lifelessly still, he decided to move on. Taking slow steps, his exoskeleton hit the ground sounding like bone. His black skin was reflecting light with the sun's glare on his body. He was just walking with no goal. Just walking...
