The Dragon's Inferno

Although Payam realized that this Woren must've been sleeping in the streets for awhile, that didn't make his smile fade any. He pulled the door wider and swept his arm across the room.

"Well, Wrone, why don't we get you signed in, then? It'll get you started, at least."

Payam left the door open for the Woren as he waddled back to the desk. Avis looked up expecting to see him being followed by a minotaur, but instead saw a cat.

"Another one?" she asked.
Payam just gave a nod as he reached the desk.
"Wow...must be comin' out of the woodwork today. Wonder if we'll get any more?"

(OCC: I'll be using my character, Jin, that I've been developing.)

When he finally arrived at Wyndia, Jin headed towards the hideout of the dragon's inferno. when he entered the building, he asked around where the manager of the group was. after asking many of the people, he found the leader of the dragon's Inferno, Avis.

Jin "Hello, Avis. I am Jin, I was wondering if I can join your group. I'm part of the dragon race and I'll help out in any way that is possible. I'm also quite skilled in close combat. So, am I In?"

(Oy...Arth, we don't have many members and I already stated that I didn't want a lot of dragons in here. I'll play along for now, but I'm keeping an eye on your character...)

The Wyndian merely blinked, since she was being asked something while cleaning up. Especially by someone who openly admitted he was a dragon.

"I think you're mistaken. I'm not the leader," she replied, pointing the handle of her mop towards the frog at the desk. "Payam over there runs things, along with Selig when he gets here. Go ahead and sign yourself in, though."

Just as he found out that he made a mistake and thought that Avis was the leader, and also revealed who he was, He headed towards Payam at the front desk.

Jin "Hey there Payam, how are you? I'm just wondering, what's the purpose of the Dragon's inferno?"

As he was asking Payam questions, he was signing himself in on the front desk
.

As Vex is sweeping the floor his ears twitch as the sound of this Jin announcing that he was a dragon. "So another one exist besides from myself in this area, but why did he chose to reveal himself." Vex thought quietly to himself.

"You said your name was Jin right? my name is Vex and it's nice to meet you. I don't mean to sound rude Jin but why would you tell us you are of the dragon clan? I mean they are supposed to be nearly extinct right, and next to that because of events in the past wouldn't you be trying to blend in?" Vex gave Jin an inquestive look then just proceded to sweep the floors again.

Then without looking up "I mean it would only make sense to keep that kind of information hidden, there are a lot of people out there, that would try and abuse your power if you openly tell people that kind of stuff. So maybe it would be best if you didn't tell anyone thats not already here."

Vex sweeps the floor up some more and after finishing most of the floor he sets the broom aside and grabs a dustpan and pours the dirt outside of an open window. Once done he picks up the broom again and procedes to sweep some more and ask in a curious voice, "Payam how many request do you usually get in a week or so, maybe we could try recruting people as were doing request for the people as well?"

As he listened to Vex about what he had to say, Jin explained his reasons.

Jin "This is the first time I said that. I said it so that way everyone on this group knows who I am. I'll be sure not to reveal who I am to no one else the next time I talk to people. 'Plus, I can sense He's one as well' Anyways, It's nice to meet you, Vex. I guess we'll be partners from this moment on. What do you think, Vex?"

(OCC: I've edited this post to suit your needs, Shen.)

'I knew one of them was bound to show,' Wrone thought to himself as he was moving tables around so the areas may be cleaned. 'I'll keep my eye on him for now. It's strange for a dragon to reveal himself to anyone. And that Vex boy is a little strange as well. I have a feeling he will be very important.'

Wrone looked around at everyone in the room. He noticed that even though a few have been traveling for days before they got here, all but himself looked fairly kempt. He began to feel ashamed that he was giving off such a bad impression to the rest.
"Um Avis," Wrone called out. "Is there a place where i can go get cleaned up a bit?. I'm starting to feel out of place in these rags."

((Yep. ^_^ Feel free to discuss dragons and the like during RP downtime. Just make sure it's OOC so it doesn't get confused with the RP.))

Avis pointed the handle of her mop towards the ceiling.

"Second floor, end of the hall before the stairs," she directed. "You may be able to find some clothes in one of the rooms there, but I'm not sure."

A rather large, dark, and ripped minotaur in full plate armor pushed the door open with his shoulder. In each of his arms were large bundles of supplies, though it was mostly food. Once he saw everyone, he looked over to Payam with a questioning brow raised. The stout frog gave an excited nod. The minotaur walked over to the desk and placed the bundles upon it, right next to the book and skimmed through the names that were written there.

"I leave for supplies and groceries and three pop in out of nowhere," he said to himself in a soft tone.
"Selig, there's something that you should know about Jin," the frog said quietly.

Though the minotaur was a little annoyed that he had to crouch down so that he could have the little secret whispered in his ear, he did it anyway. It was more than obvious what he was trying to discuss. The minotaur's eyebrows were raised nearly up to the peak of his black mohawk.

"You're kidding?"
"Nope. He said it right as he signed into the log."
Selig glanced over at Jin for a moment before looking back at Payam.
"He could be bluffing. After all, why would someone who is a dragon be boasting it?"
"That's what I was wondering."
"Well, even if he just happens to be a dragon, don't give any special treatment."
"You're telling me this? You should be more concerned about Avis."
"So she's a flirt. I know that."

Selig stood up to his full twelve-foot height and popped his beefy neck. He looked over at Avis, who kept looking over at Jin every few seconds as she mopped. After shaking his head, he called over to her.

"Avis, would you get over here and help me with this instead of trying to get his attention?"
"Aww...you're no fun," she pouted before leaning the mop against the wall and speedwalking over to Selig. She picked up the food and brought it to the kitchen. Payam walked off with a smaller bundle filled with sharpening stones and polish kits for the weapons. Selig brought the last bundle with tools up the stairs to the third floor so he could fix that gaping hole in the ceiling that was letting the pigeons in.

Wrone laughed to himself as he walked up the stairs. This was like a family who had a minotaur for a father. Selig seemed to have a soft heart for being so large and tough. He seemed to truely care about people.
When he got to the room that Avis had told him, he found a nice small tub in which he could bathe. His fur has gotten all dusty during his time on the streets, and the flees were becoming a bother. He took of the rags he was using as clothes and threw them in the trash. He got in the tub and cleaned all the dirt and flees from his fur. This was quite refreshing considering he hadn't bathed properly in a few months. When he was done, he quickly dried himself. His fur now showed a nice bright orange with deep black stripes.
Now he needed some clothes. Wrone ran to the next room in search of something to wear. There were plenty of clothes, but few there could fit the body of a woren. After searching for a short while, he found a pair of pants that he could wear. They were brown and barely went past his knees. The only shirt he found to fit him was white with long sleeves. He was not able to button the shirt all the way up , but he got it on to fit nicely in the end. He was now set.
When he had gotten back down stairs, everyone was still cleaning,
"That feels much better. Now is there anything else I can help with now that I'm clean?"

After the cleansed Woren stepped onto the first floor, Selig actually followed him down. Naturally, being that close to the feline, he heard his offer for help and gave a bit of a chuckle. He even slapped a large hand onto his shoulder with a grin.

"Of course there's something you could help with. In fact, there's something that everyone could help us with right now," he grinned as he walked over to the desk. He picked up a pencil and started making a rather crude sketch on the empty page of the log. In the meantime, he called out to everyone, "Could everyone come over here, please? Newcomers especially, since this could very well test your worth here..."

He figured that everyone would at least be within earshot by the time the pencil was discarded upon the desk. Even Payam and Avis arrived to hear what he had to announce. Selig stood up straight, towering above everyone and silently looking at all of them in the eye before he began.

"As some of you may already know, Payam, Avis, and I came back to this guild and found it raided. The items that were stolen were rather simple treasures that we brought from our own adventures, but they were worth enough to catch the eye of thieves. While I was gathering supplies, I heard a few rumors of some thieves that were in this area."

Selig plucked up the pencil again and circled what looked like a cluster of squares, using the graphite to point at the core of the circle.

"This is the edge of the market, though most of the thieves were said to be hiding in some of the windmills-"
"THAT is the edge of the marketplace?" Avis interrupted, almost gawking at Selig's drawing.
"Avis, let Selig finish before you poke fun at his drawing," sighed Payam.
Selig stared at the Wyndian for a moment before sighing. It was obvious that he couldn't stay mad at her for too long. After clearing his throat, the minotaur continued.

"Yes, this is the Eastern edge of the marketplace. Now, I'm not sure how long it'll take to find even one of these thieves, but it's still worth a look. Find the thieves, interrogate them, and recover our stolen goods. Avis, you go ahead and lead the newcomers out whenever you're ready."

Avis gave a smile and an approving nod before slipping away to another room. Payam looked up at Selig from the chair he was squatting in.

"And what are we going to do?" the frog asked, since it was Avis who was assigned a job and not himself.
"We are going to wait here," the minotaur replied, leaning on the desk a bit. "If those thieves end up anywhere near the guild, we should be here to defend it."

Silently, the Wyndian slipped back into the room holding what looked like three whips sporting spiked tips all braided around a small wand of sorts. A pale jewel was quite visible and gave a faint glow. Obviously, Avis had changed her spell casting tool into something that doubles as a close-range weapon. Selig gave a smile and simply said;

"Dismissed."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mission:
- Locate the thieves. Last spotted somewhere near the edge of the Wyndian marketplace. However, finding them right in that spot is not a guarantee.
- Capture and interrogate. Convince the thieves to reveal the location of their stolen goods.
- Return with the stolen goods. Infiltrate the area where the goods are hidden and retrieve them.
After having to listen to what Selig had to say, Jin headed towards where the marketplace was. while he was investigating, he saw several footprints leading across the town. He even saw a set leading out of town.
Jin "Avis, I'll be heading out of town to follow these footprints. Can you and the others follow the other sets of footprints that are across town? I'll contact you when I have confirmation."
With a black look on his face, Wrone watched as Jin took off on his own.
"Is he really that thick? Those could belong to anyone in the town. He obviously has never done this before."
He looked back at Avis and Vex and gave a deep sigh.
"Now let's do this the right way. You were put at the lead, Avis. So I'll stick by you until we find them."
'I hope we don't cause too much trouble doing this.'
" He says he is a dragon, so of course he's gonna be a bit thick. Those with great power often think less of those that they deem less powerfull then them. Anyways if he wants to go on his own and try to find the stolen loot, all the more power to him. With the three of us looking for information, we should be able to find a lead."
As Vex started to walk towards the marketplace he began to think to himself " I still dont understand why Jin would reveal himself as a dragon, it just doesn't make sense. Ever since our people started to wear thin among the populance we started to mingle with the humans, keeping our identies a secret. Well whatever the reason is that he has shown himself to us, I'll make sure to keep an eye on him."
He then spoke to Avis " So Avis what do these theives look like, I mean you said they were seen near the marketplace but that could mean any set of theives? Also what's with that Jin guy? Openly says hes a dragon and thinks he can do everything on his own, what does he think he is a god of somesort? What do you guys think of him?"
(OCC: I've can't believe what happened. BoF II finally hit the Wii VC Today. I already purchased the game and Just started. And about my character, Even though he is a dragon, He dosen't realize that he can't transform at this point of the Rpg, as your characters will soon realize.)
As he went out of town, following the foorprints, Jin suddenly encountered several monsters that are ready to attack. Jin then drew out his sword and began battle with the monsters. The monsters he encountered were as follows:
A slime(
slime.gif
),
a bulla(
bulla.gif
),
and
A firehead(
)
as he easily took down the slime monster, the bulla rammed Jin from behind him, injuring him in the back. Then the Firehead charged at Jin from the front with it's hot beak, but Jin defended the firehead's attack, just in time to commence with a counter attack. but then, just as Jin was about to connect the blow against the firehead, the bulla striked Jin from the side, causing Jin to lose his balance and take some damage. After getting hit twice by the bulla, Jin decided to take things up a notch.
Jin "That's it I had it with that thing, time to transform."
Or so he thought. Even though he's a dragon, he still isn't capable of transforming yet due to his lack of training, leaving the monsters to attack a widely open Jin. suffering from many attack, Jin then striked down the Firehead with a fierce blow from his sword. As for the bulla, the bulla tried to attack Jin once again, only for Jin to dodge it's third attack and getting slain by Jin's counterattack. after a battle, Jin headed towards a forest that he is unfamiliar with.
"Well," Avis began, walking off the street and between the windmills, "since we've only heard rumors, we're not sure exactly what they look like. I've heard several descriptions, though. Some say that they're the typical tall, skinny, and sneaky type, some have said that they're just a group of kids."
As they moved deeper, the gaps between the windmills actually appeared to shrink. It seemed like they were built closer together, which could be both an advantage and disadvantage for the small party: It was more likely that they could corner one of these thieves like a rat, but it was also more likely that they could be ambushed as well.
"The only thing they all had in common was that they were all human. So pretty much, we're looking for a group of humans," she finished, stretching out her wings.
"Ok, so no wings and no fur. Got it. This shouldn't too bad then. It should be easy finding a hu-"
Wrone closed his mouth before he even finished the sentence. He hadn't realized until now, that half the poeple living in Windia now were human.
"Never mind what I just said. Ok so how are we going to find them again?"
As he enters the forrest, Jin search his bag for any heal items he had before he left. He realizes that he only had about two herbs left as well as five antidotes.
'I might as well heal here before I go on'
as he use one of his herbs, he continues on through the forest. as he realizes that the has no idea who or what he is searching for, he decided to send a carrier bird to wyndia. The message reads:
"To whoever grabs this letter:
I just realize that I have no idea who I'm really searching for. can anyone give me any ideas who i might be searching for? That would be very useful. Thanks.
Jin"
after sending the message, Jin notices a couple of strange figures from several meters ahead.
'Should I go ahead or should I wait for my response from the group?'
Jin then decided to relax a bit to wait for a response.
Avis gave a bit of a shrug.
"Well, it's normal for thieves to steal because they don't have much as it is. We could probably look for either lower-class citizens or bums. We shouldn't deal with them right away, though. At least keep an eye out."
As they walked further, the poor and homeless were a little more obvious now that they were looking for them. Every large city has its share of poverty, even Wyndia. Though there were several non-human people in the streets, it seemed like there were more poor humans than any other race.
Avis gave a sigh, her heart sinking in pity. "...I'll need to get some sort of audience with the king about this. I didn't realize we had so many here."
