I can't believe we are sucking at everything lately....3 - 2 to croatia..... i mean COME ON i could play better than that and I completely MISS the bloody ball when i try too kick it

I won't get started on Bolton beating united....

(im so glad some one posted here again i couldnt find the thread lol)

they had more than one and now they are out of the Euro next year o_O

Too many forign palyers in the premiership - we are neglescting our home grown thus leading to an abysmal team

I think Arsene Wenger sums up that subject up well; it's not his nor any other club manager's job to look out for the welfare of the national team. It's their job to ensure that their team is as strong as it possibly can be. And if that means sacrificing home grown players, so be it.
But with that said, I'd still like to see a couple more Englishmen in the Arsenal first XI. :monster:

Between 1966 and the mid 90s there were virtually no foreign players in the top flight (or at least non-UK - Liverpool won the Double in 1986 with no English players in their team). How did England do in those years? They did atrociously, didn't qualify for the 1974 and 1978 World Cup (or the 1994 one) and hardly set the world alight at most tournaments. So why is it foreign players are to blame now? Maybe it's more to do with the England team's inability to play decent football (long ball...long ball) or to learn to play as a team. Stop blaming the foreign players or you'll never win anything worthwhile, chasing scapegoats.

And as said Arsene Wenger has no obligation to field English players, he picks players based on ability. He has tried some English ones, and they nearly all were not up to scratch. Or were a greedy git like Ashley Cole.

And yeah I'm biased as I support Arsenal. But I'm sick of excuses from the England fans, players, and the media. And I hate seeing the team I support being blamed for others failings. The likes of Greece and Denmark have won trophies through hard work despite limited resources, try following their example.

Bah I hate arsenal........

They need to bring that rule back from however long ago where each club can only have something like 2 foreign players. I f we are EVER to stand a chance in the Euro/World cup then we really need to concentate on the English youth and start building them up otherwise England are only gunna get more abysmal

*edit* didnt read the next 2 posts but thats still how i feel lol, i know that managers are only gunna get the best players available for their teams as you always want what is best, it is how things tend too work but I still think we should try to look closer to home to build our own talent up

but then im just a bitter united fan xD

You seem to have completely ignored my pointing out when there were no foreigners in English football England were still crap.

And they won't have a limit on foreign players as it is strictly illegal to do so. And that rule has never been in place in English football anyway.

I'm going to refer you to earlier posts. It's up to the national manager to pick the best team, not club managers. If better talent is coming through from abroad, then those are obviously the best players for the club.
And for the record, Arsenal have one of the most successful youth academies in the game. It's just been somewhat bad luck that players who've come through there have been out-shone by foreigners.

I see I'm still not a member of this club yet..... I've been waiting ages....
