The British Empire

well it's just me cos i hate poetry in General, which was fun considering i had to study poetry for my English GCSE but i got better than expected so go me *dances*
 
Naw I mean that war connotates destruction and violence and action...and somehow poems connect with daisies and fields of wheat and clouds. :monster:

Eh...that's just me.
 
That the child benefit thingy? They stuck it in an envelope with a fucking first class stamp on it. PILLOCKS. Why do we have such a crappy goverment? Stuff like that should be HAND DELIVERED!!!!! All my personal details are on that damn disc:dry:

I also hate that we have NHS and yet can you find an NHS dentist NO. I had to lie to get into my dentist..........

Then theres the doctors. Last time I went, I was in and out so fast I was like WTF?!

And don't even get me STARTED on all the Polish bus drivers that are intent on killing me

Anyways, I'm sure theres something good about good ol' Britain but I swear my memory fails me atm......
 
Sod history - it's the future thats worrying me atm!! Im moving to a remote island somewhere and sulking *sulks*
 
history influences the future and how people think things through to make sure history doesn't repeat itself over and over again
 
Does it shite. You make your own future, based on your own choices with what little insight to the future you have. History can give you experience, but not wisdom to prepare for the future.
I'm pretty happy with living in England though.
 
Oh history guides you. If you based your future on whatever comes to mind at this particular moment, you'd end up with one hell of a crazy future. Besides, what little insight you do have of the future comes from history anyway. Case in point: Star Trek. :monster:

I have one crazy present so the idea of having a crazy future no longer fazes me...... & id still say the future is more important than the past regardless of how much we can 'learn' from it. Somehow i don't see how learning about the battle of hastings or suchlike will influence our future. Can't say anyones gunna take to their swords on a battlefield these days
 
right now the future looks pretty bad for the whole world thanks to global warming, stupid world governments not trying to cut it down
