Yep, this was when Square was known as Squaresoft. It was one of those games that came out when PS2 first came out. Kinda reminded me of Kingdom Hearts...well, as far as the action-RPG battle style anyway.

I really love this game. My brother and I beat the game several times just to unlock the three characters' story and of course to also unlock their unique techniques. The battle part was my favorite. Too bad that the game was kinda short though.

I just now realized that Sion looks like Sora. =/ Random, much?

Anyway, anyone ever played this game yet? If so, what did you guys think? I thought Dominique's past was such a tragedy. :|
 
I didn't really think much for the story at all. It was so mildly...bleh.

Howeverrrrrrrrrrr, I loved the combat style. Teaming up against friends or the computer in the VS mode was great when you had all/most of the unlockable characters.

This was the first game I playe for the PS2 and it didnt let me down. The fighting style was superb and the story was quite good.
 
Now that I think about it, this was also the first game that I played for PS2! =O I'm just disappointed about the game length. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much.
 
Haha, this brings back memories. Yeah, this was my first PS2 game, too. I liked it a lot. Kaldea Orchid was my favorite character (love those outfits <3), closely followed by Volt Krueger. Oh yeah, and Echidna! She was cool, too. I also noticed the resemblance between Sion and Sora (for a while I called Sora "baby Sion").

I thought the gameplay was pretty good. I've seen worse launch titles.

Kaldea was so so cool, wanna name my first born (if i have any) after her. This game got so many bad reviews but i loved it. I get the chriticism about the ratio of fmv to game play, i mean it took an hour and a half to complete the game, and 40 minutes to complete it skipping the cut scenes, but i like cut scenes so that didnt bother me to much. Loved the characters, just thought it was the best fighter i played.
 
This was one of the first games I got for my PS2 5 years ago. I completed it afew times within one day! Was still coolio though.
 
I remember renting this game once. I got my ass beat on some like train battle or something towards the beginning. It's been a long time. It looked good but I've never had an interest to pick it up.
 
This was one of the very first games I wanted for the PS2 (other than FFX) but I never got the chance to play it.
 
I'm surprised that everyone really likes this game so much. I thought it was just decent. The graphics were beautiful but the gameplay was so blah and short. The controls were pretty plasticy and it was pretty repetitive. I rented it, beat all the stuff in one day, and I've never really got the urge to pick up and play it again
 
havent heard that. The only games I know SquareEnx has announced for PS3 is Final fantasy XIII and Versus
 
I remember once I maxed out my characters I could beat the game in under an hour and the main character Sion, reminds me of Sora
 
That game looked like a very good version of FFVIII. Seriously, they should've remade that game on that engine

I really hope so i love the game sure its a bit sort and easy but its very enjoyable and great for multi-player

If there was a sequel which i really think there should be id add the few things to it:

- Id make the game longer.
- Have the main game with co-op play :)
- more multi player battle modes
