The 'Best FF Game' Thread

This thread is for a discussion and possibly heated debate on the ever on going question, which Final Fantasy is the best one of the lot? Theres many titles, many stories, many diffrent styles of play....but which game is the daddy?!

I say FF VII, followed by VI.

I will stat my reasons once I get back from College, tis life drawing today meaning hours of fun with nakie ladies....

I don't know. For me? Personally, FFXII or VI. I don't know really which FF game is the best, despite how best people put their views across.

Do you mean IX Breakdown?

I'll probably be alone in this but I think IV is the best game. Gotta love Cecil, Kain, Rosa, and especially Rydia.
 
its hard to judge FF games cause they are all unique but the best for me would have to be:

1.FFVII
2.FFX
3.FF Tactics
4.FFVI
5.FFIX
 
Lisa, I'm still wondering whether or not you've actually played FFXII yet...LOL.

I know I'm sounding like an FF conformist here, but FFVII is my favorite game first and foremost. Ten years later and it still has people wondering. It still has people begging for spinnoffs and sequels. The story line was amazing; especially if you actually know what the hell was going on.

My second favorite is FFIX. The crystal comes back; as does the originality. I love the mideval setting, I love Zidane's upbeat character, and I love the epic romance.

Third in line is FFX. A new spin. It's fun. Full of some of the best sidequests I've seen in an FF game so far. The sphere grid was a great step up from the leveling system IMO. :)
 
This thread seems to be pretty civil. How about someone make a "worst FF thread" and see if it can remain friendly. ;)

I've only really played FFIX, FFX and FFX-2, so I'll have to say that IX is my favourite ^_^

I love the story and the characters. The medieval setting is brilliant too. FFX's world was a step down in my opinion :\
 
Ive gotta say that the three best FFs so far are:

1.FFVII
2.FFX
3.FFIX

1. FFVII is the best game for so many reasons, its plot its characters, its uniqueness - i adore everything about FF7 (except the end of disk one and Tifas scary clingy bit in disk 2)

2. FFX was the first FF game i ever played so i positviley adore it.

3. FFIX - Garnet and Vivi made this game for me - Beatrix sealed its fate as 3rd on greatest FF games ever.

I Havnt played XII yet but this time next week i will have XD

:blink: Ack! I don't think it would remain civil - I could imagine countless arguements rampaging..:|

Rhea, I haven't played XII yet lol, but I know so much about it already, other people think on forums I have already have done :P
 
Hmm, let's see. Even to this day I can't decide whether I like VII or VIII more. I'm starting to believe that they're both my favorites, no more, no less. To me they're equal. :)

Next comes IX. I absolutely love the castles and such. It made me feel like I wanted to live in their world, lol.

Mind you, this is based on the games that I've played so far. I have not played VI yet, but I have a feeling it'll become a favorite game of mine too.
 
Since I've only played four FF's I can't really give my opinion. I can only say that my favorite was FFVII for it's story

And FFX for it's gameplay.

XI isn't there because I refuse to do Online gaming and XII isn't on there because it hasn't been released over here yet.

FF VII: Great story, great characters, great gameplay, great world, good systems and stunning visuals! This was my very first FF and it got me hooked. When I think of childhood I think of FF VII, the many great and fun times me and my friends have had playing this game listening to Iron Maiden is incredible. It would be very hard to beat the impression it has left with me.

FF VI: Probably the third or fourth FF game I ever played, previous ones were VIII and maybe X however it was VI that reminded me the most of VII. It seems to have that same spark. once I noticed the case on the shelf in my game store (I never knew they planed to re-release older FF's on the PS at that point) I knew I had to buy it and play it. The game blew me away and I was very suprised on how good it is for a 2D game thats now years old.

FF VIII: Second FF ever for me and ive had many the great times with my friends playing this game. Its a great follow up to the great FF VII but feel its missing certain things and isn't as strong as it predecessor.
 
FFVIII is my all time favourite I love the story line and I thought the junction and draw systems were cool plus it has my favourtie characters in it ^_^

FFX is my second favourite the grapics were amazing (the sending :woot:) so was the music the sphere grid was a great way of 'leveing' your party up.
