I'm kind of surprised there's not a sub-forum for the sequel. Anyway, who else has played it? I just finished the first installment, and I think it's shaping up to be as good as, if not better than, the original. The story's good, and I love the band system. What do you think about it?

This is the Wiiware game, correct? If it is, I remember reading something about it, and it looked pretty good. I was thinking about getting it, but I'm not sure. Is it worth spending my Wii Points on?

In your first post, you said something about the first installment. Do you mean that there will be updates to the game released later on? I haven't gotten around to playing it, yet.

They are releasing the game in episodes, which unfortunately means you'll have to buy the new episode, every time a new one comes out. =/

damn, ffiv was my favorite game, not just in the ff series, but as a whole,im going buy a wii just for the sequel, yeah, stupid, but i also have the new cc game to look forward to if i buy onw,but how much wii points does eqach episode cost, and what is the link, and sorry for this last question, but is it graphically enhanced,or 2d classic final fantasy

I'm hesitant to try this game. I loved the original so much that... I don't want to be let down by a sequel.

Can anyone tell me what the story is about? Who are the main characters? Is it any good?

The first one, which I think is required to play any of the game, is 800 points. The smaller installments are 300 each. I'm not sure what the final one will cost. And it's 2D, similar to the GBA version of FFIV.

Basically, the plot involves the reappearance of the Lunarian moon and a mysterious and obviously evil girl who is collecting the elemental crystals. The main character is Ceodore, the son of King Cecil and Queen Rosa, and most of the playable characters from the first game are playable, as well as a few original ones. As I said earlier, I've found the game to be quite good. Its gameplay is very similar to the original.

Well this game looks really cool but how come it is being only released in episodes? Imho they should have just made a whole wii game out of it. Well Im gonna buy this game on the shop channel and ill see if its good as the original.

I know that the After Wars was originally meant to be an episodic game for mobile phones, but I can't see the point of SE making it episodic for the Wiiware service too- apart from money.
Why couldn't they have just released it as one whole thing? The first three chapters (up to Kain's story) are what? 800 Wii points?

The next lot are 300 each and the last ones would be about 800. So how much points does that total altogether? I can't remember, but it seems to be a lot for a FFIV with a "new" story and a few small things (like Band and the new Devils Road) thrown in. I wouldn't recommend downloading everything when they come out. Go for Secret of Mana instead of spending multiple sets of 300 points for Rydia's story, Porom+Palom's story, Yang's story, Edward's story etc.

ok,heres the prices i got online,800 for the first 2,300 for 3-7,800 for 8,and 1000 for 9,these probably arent the real pricing, its something i pulled from an unofficial site, but thats a toatal of 41 bucks,se is really trying to rip us off

According to Wikipedia, the prices are:

Chapters 1-3: 800 points
Chapters 4-10: 300 points each
Chapter 11 (final chapter): 800 points

That's $37 total, which is less than what most new games cost.

I never heard of them releasing a sequel/prequel or whatever it is on the Wii. I do have a Wii but I don't play it that much except for the bowling game. I don't think it has that many RPGs to offer. I didn't even know you could go online or what not until my cousin showed me one day. Then again I'd rather not hook up my wii to the internet nor do I have a clue as to how to do it. I've seen in Japan they have a game released where you play as Rydia and at the moment, I've forgotten the title. Best of luck to those of you who do have it. Could anyone post any screen-shots so those of us who don't have it can take a peek at what it looks like? :)

I looked it up on FF Wiki as I will probably never play it not having a Wii and all, and to be quite honest it looks like a load of shit.

The graphics are basically a enhanced jobbie of the GBA version of FFIV. But thats fine. What I'm not liking is much of what seems to happen is a blatent re-hash of events already experienced in the original. Instead of creating a new adventure, they've just re-used alot of old stuff but added a few new bits and characters. Cheap-as-fuck. Would it really be worth forking out for just an 'add-on'?

Here is the link for the FFWiki page about it: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_IV:_The_After_Years
