During a recent interview with EGMi, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura took some time to address the development of Kingdom Hearts III.

“For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III,” he told the magazine. “But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy.”

Nomura’s already preparing for the game’s development though, even with his busy schedule.

“I’m thinking about what’s going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept.”

As to whether or not the game will be on this generation of consoles, Nomura says: “Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements… So, yes, I’m willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. That’s my concern.”

Kingdom Hearts III will not be out for a really long time it seems. Still why is SE worrying about all of this. I mean just get Versus XIII and Agito XIII done for now Jesus Christ.. Then they can work on this. So many useless games they are also working on.

I knew that Mr. Nomura was busy, so I am not even thinking about when KH3 is coming. He says it is and I say let's just have patience. I am glad that he says he is busy, along with the rest of the team as this means that they are hard at work on the more important titles (I hope :thehell:)
 
Rofl, I was just thinking about this. I honestly would have no issues with KH3 coming out on PS2. When you consider the graphics of all the games, the PS2 caliber has been the highest quality we've seen thus far.

I honestly don't know what to expect in PS3 graphics. Can you imagine realistic Versus-like KH3 graphics? I know automatically we're all like "fuck yeah! :gasp:" but really think about. A lot of the game's distinctiveness is the graphics and character proportions (big hands, feet, small bodies). I think realism in KH is rather iffy :hmmm:
 
There'd be no chance of it coming out on PS2 now. :lew: It's pretty much an unsupported console now, is there even a PS2 section in game stores anymore? :wacky:

I'm not particularly fussed about KH3, there's a lot of other AAA titles coming out soon which takes my mind off wanting it atm.
 
Frick! Finally, man! I've been waiting for news like this for forever it seems! xD

I hope it's on PS2 if they go forward with making it. I don't think I can get a PS3 :(

It pretty much has 0% of being on the PS2 imo, Final Fantasy XIII originally started on the PS2 then shifted over the PS3 so it makes it look like Square-Enix have their eyes set on which consoles they do and don't want to develop on.
 
If Final Fantasy XIII was on ps2 it would have been even more shit to be honest :wacky: Nobody likes the ps2 anymore as the ps3 if far more superior with the graphics and shit.
 
This makes me a bit happy and sad.

I know the chances of it being ported/released for PS2 is low, so I won't be getting this game even if its been made lol
 
Aww, I guess there won't be anymore PS2 releases of KH. Poo...
I'm not going to get a PS3 yet until they make a model that plays PS2 games (and doesn't glitch when it plays them).
As for what KH3 would look like with PS3 graphics, I think it should keep the cartoony-styled graphics with a few improvements. Like no more stiff/fish faces. You know how when your playing as Sora, he has this stiff emotionless look on his face. That's what I mean.

Guess i'm getting off topic. XD
 
If they make it for PS3, they better make a port for PS2. It would be wrong of them not to, oh and I'm sure the poorer of the people would start a riot and kill them xD

They most likely will not make a ps2 port. It will be buy a ps3 or you are missing out kind of thing. Besides why would they make a port that will just have a shitty advantage compared to the real game?

Seriously, I still love and play my PS2 games frequently. Fanboiz can feck off :mokken:

I hope it does come on the PS3 then. I'm guessing we won't be seeing a release for KH3 for at least 2 years, and that may give Sony enough time to push out a PS4 (although what can possibly come after Blu-ray, I have no clue...) but here's hoping S-E doesn't plan for console games beyond the current gen.

In my perfect world, I would want this to be a PS2 game. I mean, why not? I know graphically it is very obselete compared to the PS3's, but does it really matter? It can still come out with beautiful visuals and it wouldn't take SE up to a 10th of a century in length of time to make it. It's just too bad that the PS2 is more or less dead now, so there's practically hardly any developers acknowledging its existence anymore now. It was a great console. >.>

I think somebody beat me to the punch line but I pretty much agree, stop making so many useless games and just get on with the ones that matter. D:

I don't want to sound mean but they release all these games... and normally three years after they're announced or something. *glances at FF XIII* The only reason why they can release Dissidia 012 early is because they already have the base for it on the psp and it's not a huge game.

Well, le sigh about that, but I kind of figured that already. It can't be helped though. S-E's got Nomura working on so many projects, and despite what people may say online about them being small and unnecessary, sales speak a lot louder than words (and heck, I'll be the first to admit it; I may bash something, but I'll still likely be out buying it or at least trying it out if I pay attention to news of said game), and these minor projects likely sell enough for them to be worked on >_<

Parasite Eve fans are waiting for 3rd Birthday, people who loved Dissidia are psyched for Duodecim, and people are anxious for Versus more than ever. I'm positive Versus will be out before KH3, and Versus' release date is most likely a long while away from now.

KH fans like me will just have to keep grabbing these "side dish" games and nibble on those until the long awaited KH3 is finally presented to us. And odds are the story isn't even going to finish there, so I say just take the waits in stride :awesome:
