Multiple Platforms Tekken 6

Well, I won't be able to get my hands on it to play it until Christmas, but I am seriously hyped about it, It just came out a couple days ago and now Christmas can't come soon enough. :D

Graphics for the game look great, the fighting looks as good as ever, as do the characters. And some of the newcomers look...interesting. XD Having some big fat guy in fighting games is becoming a bit of a craze. >.>

We have it in work already and I had a peek. I havent played Tekken since Tekken 3 cause tis getting bit boring to me now. I went through a phase of loving beat-em ups, but they have lost their appeal.

If youre a Tekken fan, then I guess grab it and see the drama continue. See who gets thrown into a volcano this time lol.

I've got Tekken 3, Tekken 5, and Dark Resurrection for the PSP, and I enjoy them all a lot, I definitely think it'd be worth getting, even if you've got Tekken 5.

Like I said, I haven't been able to play it, and won't be able to until Christmas, but I've read and seen plenty of it, and it just looks stunning, and sounds like it has got some great additions. ^_^

Well, I pre-ordered this weeks ago, and I'm gonna get it when it comes out in the UK tomorrow. I'm a little disappointed that all the characters are unlocked at the start, if it's true, since half the fun is unlocking them yourself. Looking forward to more customization and new features, but especially looking forward to online battling - as long as it's not as laggy as Super Smash Brothers Brawl / Soul Calibur IV are.

What? I never heard anything of all the playable characters being available right from the start. :ness: Well, hopefully there'll still be content to unlock, besides character story beginning and endings, and stuff you buy in character customization. >.>

Well, so far, I'm quite enjoying Tekken 6. Not quite sure on scenario mode just yet, but it's interesting. The gameplay is pretty much the same as Tekken 5, but it's faster and feels more fluid.

I can't believe they've managed to do the impossible and make a boss more annoying than Jinpachi, worse, they've made two of them. That NANCY thing and Azazel.

I've only had a few online battles so far, one was pretty laggy but the other two were fine...so hopefully it won't be as bad as Soul Calibur IV, which was atrocious for lag >_>

Well, I've been playing it pretty solidly for a week and this is pretty much my take on it:

If you enjoy other Tekken's there's a lot to get out of it. For the first time since probably Tekken 2, the new characters all feel like having their own style compared to others, nothing like Julia, Christie, Asuka or that. There's more than enough tweaks to other characters to make differences to how they play, some good ( Kuma, Armor King, Lei, Xiaoyu ) while others feel as if they've been hit with the nerfstick a bit ( Raven and Heihachi spring to mind ). If you're going to be playing this with mates in the same room then it's a good buy.

There are some definite downsides though, main one for many people being the online. It's not great at times, particularly on ranked matches. A 2-bar connection on this feels like a 3-bar on Soul Calibur ie. it's definitely noticeable but adptable once you've played it a few times. Player matches seem to have better connections but people are sometimes jerks and will boot you as soon as you join the room, while others will happily play a few rounds.

Scenario mode is kind of forced upon you. It's certainly not a great experience but you do rack up gold and customisation items at a fair rate so there's decent incentive to play through it. Unlocking characters' story modes in Scenario is a but iffy, as it means Mokujin, Devil Jin and Yoshimitsu's endings may never be seen by some people, as their Scenario Maps are hellish to beat 'til you figure out the A.I.'s weakness.

And my one big complaint is that in 2-player, with two people in the same room; player two is stuck with the default costumes with no customisations, they can't even use the customisations that player 1 is using. In T5 and Dark Resurrectionthat's what happened, and you could even load a seperate profile for player. They'll likely say it's to do with stopping trophy-fiends pinching profiles for ranks and trophies but I feel it kind of hurts the experience a bit.

Oh, and loading's not great, even after the install. But you have space to store 50 replays and 100 ghosts of other players, which is cool, if creepy...
The replays certainly help with improving your skills. Struggling to form a gameplan with a certain character? Have a look at that character on the leaderboards and watch some replays of the best players, it's great for picking up tips.

Thta's my take anyway. I've mentioned those flaws as it wouldn't be right at all to say the package as a whole is perfect. But the core Tekken gameplay is very good, probably my favourite of the series. I've racked up close to 50 hours now and don't look like stopping anytime soon. t all depends how much you like your Tekken gameplay and how willing you are to overlook some flaws in the package. I'd give it 8/10. If they fix the connections and the player profiles I'd change it to a 10, 1/10 for each. But I really hope they fix the profiles issue mostly.

I'm glad i got this, far way better than the other tekkens by far. After messing around a bit i found out i'm better with Lee than Jin so i just stuck with him after being able to pull his combos off better. I also use nina and a few others i can't recall atm. I'm trying to get better with all of them lol.

Must say i'm extremely pleased with this game and I'm happy to say that this game might be the best Tekken game to date since Tekken 3 (Tekken 4 was horrible and Tekken 5 was quite good).
I like the new characters and also the minor changes they have done to other characters aswell like making Christie and Eddy alittle diffrent from eatchother. Must say that I quite enjoy Leo's fightstyle but the question about he/she's gender is still a myster *sigh*

Scenario Campaign was not as bad as I first thought. I had a feeling it would be like that "Devil Within" mode in Tekken 5 which in my point of view was horribly horrible. I like that it's more of a 3D Tekken Force mode that actually let's you do attacks and combos like in a normal 1v1 match. And you can get the clothes from doing that aswell is a huge bonus. Meaning I can buy all the hair custimasation for Leo <3.

And the Custimasation in this game is tons better than Tekken 5's. I'm highly impressed with the whole make your own hairstyle thing which I have taken my good time with. Also the amount of clothes some of the characters have are sick. Feel alittle bad for Alisa as her options is quite limited but still quite good.

When it comes to the new members of the cast they all fight quite fluidly and don't have fightstyle's you want to bash your own heads in for. The only thing I actually detest is Miguel's >> X O attack which... makes him laugh ? D8?!?
I just can't see how that will help unless it's a prerequisite to a insanely powerful move.

All in all I'm seriously please with Tekken 6 and will be playing it alot in the future. I might even take back the statement I made to my friends about playing that until Blazblue Continuum Shift is released. Might even play both alongside eatchother.
:se7:

That laugh attack sets up to a potential 1-hit kill I think, least in practice mode it destroyed the opponent's health. It's fairly slow though.

I've had the game for a few days now and I must say, barring online (I get kicked every 5 bloody seconds, it's annoying >_>) it's a fantastic game. My favourite characters so far are Miguel, Bob and Lars, Tekken 6 has also given me incentive to use the likes of Marduk and Kuma, who I never used previously because I found their attacks a bitch to pull off but now they are pretty deadly fighters.

On the whole, mega fun and easy to adapt to, though Scenario Mode can be a pain at times, having god knows how many enemies on you at once :gonk:

Yeah Miguel's laugh is his unblockable, you hold forward and he does a punch, the only one-hit kill in the game ( Nancy and SC Jin excluded ). Only ever landed it once online, getting me a win I had absolutely no right to.:awesome:

ahh tekken...i love me some!
me being a sucker for fighting games(seriously i'd play any fighting game) i had to go out to get it like straight away, i must say one of the best enteries to the series obviously losing to Tekken3 though

The new Campain is bull shit seriously it controls like one of those sidescrolling beat um ups just worse only thing good about are those mouth watering CG cut scenes:ryan:

Vs, is as good as ever just the same as any other but with more chars and better graphics

so its a must for any Fighting game lover to sum it up me and my friend played it in my local HMV for like and hour even though i had it at home
i think it was like 25 wins to 3 wins (i had 25 wins =D)

I was playing this with Steve the other night and in the time I played I beat him every time. XD

I love Tekken so I'm considering buying it for Steve so that he doesn't have to hire it out all the time.

It's still a new release so they only let you have it for one night each time. =0

^ Yeah, that kinda sucks, one day rentals don't allow time for very much, that's why I don't really spend money renting stuff, just get whatever games I am interested in and willing to take a chance on that I think has potential to be quite a bit of fun, or something I am absolutely positive I'll enjoy, like upcoming games Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Pokémon SoulSilver Version. ;)

Who here has seen the two of those Armor King ending movies? I thought that (2) was quite epic actually, it seemed longer than most, and features Jaguar-headed characters, which I always enjoy using. xD

So,
Craig Marduk killed the Tekken 6 Armor King's brother...yep, the k word, that's pretty dark. I wish a cinematic fight scene broke out there or something though, would have been awesome. Revenge. :wacky:

Tekken is one my child hood games I would have to say Namco did pretty good job with Tekken6:D Even though they had to fix some patches here and there. I was real pissed when I couldn't play SC Mode online with other users that was one of the things they promised. But they fixed it so I am glad. While I'm at it might aswell post my highest ranked character:D

Asuka-Marauder 191W-106L 73.4

I always favoured soul calibur over tekken but recent days I start to play tekken 6,soul calibur is just too easy, especially online.Tekken is more difficult ,namco always puts the final boss very hard even on very easy their still hard.

I stated b4 that my bro owns me in tekken 6.

My PS3's bricked it so I won't be ranking up anytime soon, but I did have:

Bob - Warrior - ~210W ~50L
Kuma - Brawler - ~160W ~80L
Nina - Rogue - 94W 17L
Raven - Rogue - 103W 26L
Miguel - Rogue - ~60W ~35L
Zafina - Rogue - ~40W ~15L

Can't remember exact matches for most of them and can't check, hence the circas. Bob is teh cheap....
