This game is featured in the game Orange Box (Team Fortress 2/Half Life 2), but its also by itself.

So you basically install it into your computer and play against players all over the earth. You can pick different class that each have there own abilities. Theres a lot of different areas and and types you can play like defend an area and stuff.

Classes examples (not all of them):
Spy: You can take the form of an enemy but if they catch you or hit you with bullets or fire or whatever you will turn back into a spy. Main plan is to just put your cloak on (only lasts like 10 seconds) and run to there base, hide out, and then hang out by the snipers, and then you can kill the snipers up top without them knowing.

Scout: Fast runner with a shotgun and a baseball bat. Good for getting enemy stuff.

Heavy: They got a big gun that shoots rapidly but they are really slow.

Medic: Heal the other people and you can charge up to uber charge and not get hurt for like 10 seconds. Very useful.

The Gameplay is awesome and Graphics are pretty good.Heres a picture of the gameplay.

Playing as a Medic

the game is terrible compared to how much fun it was with TFC. no conc jumping , grenades, bunny hopping etc. personally I play fortress forever because it is faithful to the original

Well let me get right down to it, I played it on Xbox360 for less than a week and hated it. It was dumbed down, it had no sense of team work involved in it due and thanks to xbox360, there were no customizable map making. I mean this game stripped TFC and QTF of their glory due to many reasons. Now I played QTF for a year and TFC for six years.. so let me brief you on the games.

1) Offense and Defense were well defined in Team Fortress Classic. I remember leading both at one time and coordinating strikes on the flag room (2fort, Well), cap points (canal zone 2), and Gas chambers (Rock2) - as well as defending them.

Offense:
Medic on Offense - On offense you used medics to concussion jump to high places and take out lvl 3 sentry guns with a grenade or 2. Also to finish off engineer or maybe soldier or Demoman camping their. Medics were very lethal because of their shotgun and self healing.

Scout on Offense - These were generally used for flag capping only. Their high speeds and amazing concussion jumps were very skillful. When people didn't know how to bunny hop.. this class was probably the most talented of people playing it.

Spy on Offense - Main job was to infiltrate the base and take out key players, whether it be a demonman who had detonation controlled grenades on the ground or maybe even heavy weapon guys who sat their idle until they get an incoming on the opposing team.

Demoman/Soldier - both were used to take out the main defenses and to get flags moving through other people. They did the heavy work.. with their secondary frag grenades or nail grenades.

Offensive Summary - With an amazing amount of coordination you would be surprised how skilled people were in TFC. If you could coordinate teams of 4 on the offense, you could pick up any other FPS game on the PC. This game was the start of all in game communications. It put all FPS's to shame in the future generation including TF2.

Defense:

Soldier - The best Defensive tool in my opinion. Why? because you have 4 rockets before your reload, you have 4 grenades at your disposal and a mean long range shotgun. Aim at the feet, and you will make any offense cry.

Sniper - These were very effective with people who knew how to play them. If they were voice commed in, they were able to take out conc jumping scouts mid air. They get really annoying to say the least, to the point where people call them unskillful. Which is far from the truth.

Demoman - They serve their purpose very well by putting up defensive perimeters. There used to be a hack where you could alias in a script in order to detonate whenever, but those days changed. Now a days you would have to wait 4 or so secs till explosions, but a very skilled Demoman can kill the hardest of foes. They have 4 grenades and 2 frag grenades at their disposal. And if anyone knows about frag grenades.. they can be VERRRY deadly.

Engineer - Another key member to the defense. They keep everything secure with sentry guns and ammo canisters. They can put the ammo canister on the flag so whenever anyone gets near they can blow it in order to instantly kill basically anyone. Their main offense is their shot gun and their EMP grenades... with EMP grenades they are able to kill everything but other engineers i believe. The shot gun is super deadly though, as their is no range limit.

Heavy Weapons Guy - If not concussioned these fellas are another key figure to defending areas. They have high amount of hp and armor. They are so deadly with their minigun. Unfortunately though people figured out how to Bhop and basically an HW guy could hop as fast as medic could run while bhopping.

Anyway.. with all that being said. This was the most team oriented game any PC has ever seen. Without a decent team to back you.. no one person could rise about the rest unless the opposing defense or offense was just that bad.

You could alias out whatever you wanted as well. So if you had custom key bindings for some classes but not the others will you could change the configs.

I know I used grenade timers for my Conc jumps as well as spy configs for speeding up/slowing down walk/run speed as well as disguising. So if say I went HW I would walk/run as fast as an HW. Man I really miss this game..

Now TF2? It was all my hopes and dreams. When I heard that they delayed it in 2000, and then again in 2002 I was going... well they must be adding some pretty awesome features. What did they do though? They took away conc jumps, secondary grenades, made the game a dumbed down thing with "power ups" from medics and such. I have never seen such garbage.

While it might have looked visually pleasing.. it hurt for me to play it. If you never played TFC for quite some time, then there is no problems with this game. They kept the basics.. they created similar maps.. but I feel like I'm playing an Amped version of Unreal 2k.

No more DM_Mulch, Dr_concjump 1 2 3 4 5 or 6, Dr_rocketjump 1 2 3 4 5 or 6... sigh.. if only ..

I couldn't really care less for TFC - I've played it after TF2, and it was horrible with all the grenade spam and stuff. When I'm reading that a medic could single-handedly take out a level 3 sentry, I'm thinking there's something seriously wrong with that game.

I main the Sniper, mostly to annoy people. <3 Plus, his trailer is win. xD

"Dad? Dad, I'm a- Ye- Not a "crazed gunman", dad, I'm an assassin! ...Well, the difference bein' one is a job and the other's mental sickness!"

On a different note, I hate the Spy.

[MOD-EDIT Mind throwing a little more info? Like what else do you enjoy about this game? Post count section Thanks]

I actually quite like TF2 for a while when it first went live, as you tended to get a lot of tactical gameplay from the old TFC players, unfortunatley it seems to have attracted a more "deathmatch" style bunch of players nowadays so it does tend to get rather bland rather quickly.

Still love the spy though, nothing quite like Backstabbing through the entire team xD

"They should call you alias Doctor Noooooo!!" xD

i have played it before on Xbox360 when i got the orange box, though i didn't enjoy it to much it had no updates, no new maps, no new weapons and it was pretty dead.
put a couple of months ago i got it for PC and well it was amazing more maps weapons everything has been improved

I try to get a feel for my team before I choose my class, but if it was a perfectly balanced team, I'd go spy. :3

I never really was on your side...

Incredible game and tons of action. I hate the item system but i deal with it. my favorite class is the pyro. light em' up.

Anyone can take a lvl 3 sentry though in TF2, don't you see? =P So I still don't understand that analogy accurately.

This game is good stand alone, but I don't know if I'd call it TF2, it has some pretty good qualities.. but still.. it's missing the team work parts in my opinion and the map customization (xbox version).
