[T] Resident Evil Discussion [Game/movies]

I started out playing RE1 and I remember how much fun it was, and how scary it was. I tried playing it just a couple of weeks ago and I think I died about 5 times before giving up.... I think they made RE2 quite a bit easier. Or maybe I just couldn't remember how to do anything. :8F:

I find the original RE1 a lot harder than RE2, the damage ratio is so horribly inconsistent. You can get bitten (as Chris) once, then be in fine, get bit again and be in danger, I mean, what the feck?

REmake is FAR better, i've never actually finished the original but I don't see the point since REmake outshines it in so many ways. (Except maybe the cheesy voice acting. :sad3: )

RE5 is vastly improved online, seriously. Well, it depends on the player you're playing with but I generally find it far more enjoyable online, remember our sessions matt?
RE2's amazing, as is 3, and REmake... okay i'm just going to list them all here.

The only ones I don't think i'll ever play ( or again) are Gaiden, Dead Aim and Survivor.

The thing that stands out most to me from the original RE1 is... a boulder rolling after me, I think, and some sharks flopping around. I haven't played it since I was like... 8.

RE2... aligator, Ada, and Sherry stick out. :8F:

RE3... I play that one more. :ryan:

Edit: SURVIVOR WAS AWFUL.

I think so, or I'm just bonkers. One of the two. :wacky:

I should get around to actually playing RE4 again. But. The aiming is dreadful. -__- So no.

I just wanna game in general tbh, fucking school :sad3: Taking all my time.

It was in the mines, yeah. I think in the original the mines were more complex due to the graphical constraints, and the fact that I think there's loads of hunters there wheras in REmake there's 3/4 depending on who you're playing as.

Yeah, I used to stream them a lot.
I should really do a Tantalus stream sometime, mixing and matching (but mainly RE). I wonder who'd watch. :8F:

Okay, let's start a discussion. :andry:

Did you guys know that a human couldn't possibly lift Nemesis' rocket launcher? :8F:

I think it's just on the wiki / Nemesis' general fact sheet actually.
The thing is, they had to really or they could use it against him possibly. (No easy feat)
Plus it makes it pack a punch, ever noticed how he clubs Jill with it too?

No, she doesn't.
If you choose to jump out of the window in the cable car when it crashes he'll have the launcher in the Clock Tower showdown and Carlos won't show up till after.

If you use the emergency brake then Carlos will appear, destroy his launcher and then pass out until after the fight is over.

Jill saves him on their first encounter, actually.
No matter where you find Carlos (Restaurant or Newspaper office, it depends soley on which you check first) Jill is ALWAYS the one to take the initiative on what to do, i'm pretty sure Carlos hasn't encountered Nemesis by that point. As he's after Jill in the station whilst he's in the downtown area.

He doesn't really acknowledge Nemesis until the Clock Tower. xD

Not necissarily, Nemesis was originally programmed to hunt down and kill any S.T.A.R.S members he could find, Jill wasn't actually a member anymore, she quit not long after the mansion incident but Nemesis couldn't differentiate that so he attacked her anyway.

He wasn't programmed to attack anyone else (as shown in the films, I hate to cross reference from the games to the films, but it's a decent one at least) but he will if they get in his way. The only reason he attacks Carlos is because he's defending Jill.
As the game goes on however, more towards the later Clock Tower / Dead Factory, Nemesis starts losing focus of his objective, thus just resorting to typical Tyrant behavior...

attacking anything in sight.

:8F: Andeh is a regular plethora of RE3 information. It's kind of crazy how I notice that all that happens but I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. I mean I have played the game quite a few times and it just didn't click that Nemmy went all psycho and was killing everything in site.

At first he doesn't, just look at his AI when he's chasing you for example.

He'll go for Jill, ONLY Jill, he'll ignore the zombies. He'll only hit them if they get in the way, sometimes it's unintentional but I think it's also programmed by his AI to do it. The zombies are nothing to him, neither are the other humans, all he is focused on is Jill.

Basically, nothing will stop from from achieving his goal.

...except Jill having his head removed via acid, then having a few rail cannon rounds pumped directly into him, followed by a whole magnum clip. That might do the trick.
