Playstation Suikoden Series

suikoden I & II are two of the greatest console RPGs ever. They lost it abit with 3 and above, but my god are 1 and 2 fantastic..

and yep, konami games.

Haha, yeah I came in here thinking the same thing. Konami games. But indeed I like em. I've never been able to find Part one but part three is my favorite of the series. I like how you get the chance to see the series through different eyes. I was let down with IV though and therefore lost the hype of the series.

Then someone please move this to it's place :D

And yeah, everything after 2 was awful, I was so hyped when 3 came out, but they ruined it ...

Sure thing.

-Thread Moved to Playstation and Merged-

I haven't played the game yet, but I heard it's quite decent, although nothing extraordinary. (Of course, entirely based on others' opinions.) I would like to give the game a try out someday though.

It's a great game/series. You should play the older titles because you'll most likely enjoy it more (however the game itself is rare, so ISO's may be an option).

The truth is, I only really enjoyed I, II, III (you would truly have to take the time to enjoy III, many people had mix opinions.) . Afterwards, in my opinion, the series started to die down a bit and move towards the past of Suikoden, which I didn't like at all...Konami could have wrote a book about 4 and 5 and continued the series into the future (it was obvious Konami Entertainment Japan wanted to milk the series as much as they can for money before pushing the series futher in it's time line.)

So what is 5 like? I was really into 3...psyched about 4 because of it...then when that came out I pretty much turned my back to the series. Didn't even notice there was a 5 out...shows how much 4 pissed me off.
Does it at least go back to its roots?

Suikoden 5 was better than 4. It's battle system went back to 1 and 2. The best Suikoden Games though were 1, 2 and 5. 3 was okay but 4 was really bad.

I'll have to give it a check. Unfortunately I sold my 60gig PS3 for the 80 so now I don't have a system to play it on...I'll have to find some way.

The only one i liked was 5,
It was so boring during the first 1/6 of the game if even,
because it took so long but things got alot better during that invasion,
after that it was enjoyable,
i have yet to completely finish it.

Suikoden

I love the Suikoden series, it's my favourite series.
Suikoden 2 is my favourite game of all time, the only game that i consider to on equal ground with Final Fantasy 7 when it comes to quality.

Although i believe Suikoden 1 to be seriously underrated, i just finished a play-through and loved it :D

I also think that after Suikoden 2 the series went downhill =[

The only Suikodens that I have played I have enjoyed playing both... I have played both 4 and 5 on the PS2 I enjoyed 5 more for some reason...

Suikoden Tierkreis (sequel on DS) just came out in Japan a couple days ago...Anyone tried it out yet...? I'm looking forward to it, myself, but haven't tried it yet...

I have played Suikoden 1-5 with the exclusion of 4. I loved 2 and 5--they were my faaavorites (2 was my overall favorite). I refused to play 4 because I'd already heard about it. In the other games, I'd watched my uncle play them before me, but I played them anyway. Suikoden was the first game I ever cried on--and then the second, and then the 5th. lol! One thing about the series is the fact that they induce tears... almost every one of them does. I think 3 was a little overrated, though. It was okay, but not fantastic. It was rated higher than the second one, which I disagree with. (Since, as I've said before, the second was my favorite.) Music and story are great in the games, but the characters are the real reason why I love them. There's so much detail!

:hmmm: I really, really, really loved Suikoden II, it is such an amazing game, I am sure everyone gets that! So because I loved this game so much I decided to try the others.

First I tried 1.... I can't really remember why I stopped playing it, probably because it was slower than 2.

Then I tried 4, which was terrible, I couldn't even bring myself to get past the 1st area. The main character ran like he had shit in his pants, the animation was just terrible :(

Then I bought 3 and played it and... meh... it's just not doing it for me.

5 is the only one I haven't tried to play, I have heard good things about it but I don't think the Suikoden series is for me :(

2 will forever hold a special place in my heart. I wish it would go back to those 2D animations ;_;

I have played Suikoden I-V and Tactics

Overall I say it is a great series, too bad it never hit the main stream like some games got, I say if you never tried the Suikoden series.. TRY THEM! I would say try V first if you want something...newer... II is usually what people call the best, but V Idk had more story in it...

But they are all overall very good (even IV, the one that people say almost killed the series, which I will admit it was plain and...got dull after a while, but it was interesting to play none the less)

Like, if you want to support the revival of the series.

I'm not actually putting my hopes up. But man, Konami heard them although didn't said anything good yet.

Frankly speaking, I would prefer a new Suikoden game over a new FF game TODAY as new FF titles continues to disappoint.

I loved the Suikoden games, though I Just played the first 2. I finally got hold of part 3, but haven't gotten to play it yet. I remember part 2 being glitched as hell though, such as running outside of the screen, and untranslated text and what not. Still a lot of fun though. Only problem is there was a lot of characters in the game that get ignored and forgotten. I go to great lengths to recruit them but then just forget they exist after I do.

The Suikoden series are amazing, one of my all time favorite series. Obviously the first and second game are the best so far. I haven't been able to play Suikoden III yet since the english version is USA only. I really, really want to play it though and hopefully they release it through PSN as a classic or ideally a bundle of HD remakes but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Played IV, Tactics and V though as they were released in EU.

The most recent Suikoden I played was the DS one, Tierkries or something like that. It was decent, and by far one of the better games I've played on the handhelds (not saying much).

I wish they'd revive this series, would be amazing.
