Yer, I decided that I want to read a book, it's just that I really don't have my heart set on one, so I'm open to suggestions, if you would so kindly provide them :monster:

What I'm looking for is fantasy, Sci-fi, or something a bit philosophical and psychological something along those lines.

If it's not too much a short introduction to the book would also be helpful.

I've the perfect read for you.

The Braided Path written by Chris Wooding is a trilogy, set in the empire of Saramyr it follows the journey of various characters whose paths inevitably cross. Their goal is to rid the empire of the Weavers who are secretly forming their own political regime using Witchstones that fell from the skies centuries ago.

It really is a cracking read filled with fantasy.

Shall I type out a summary for you quickly?

OK, here's the blurb...

"The Empire of Saramyr is ancient. And, at it's core, corrupt. The families that run the empire have relied on the magic of the depraved Weavers for too long. The Weavers will not suffer any other magic users to live. Any child born with any sort of magical power is declared an Aberrant and must die.

But the Empress of Saramyr has a terrifying secret: her daughter is an Aberrant. As rumours about the Heir-Empress spread, the families are plotting around the succession and the Empire descends towards civil war.

And all the while the ragged advisors to the families, the Weavers, make their own plans..."

The three books in the trilogy are called The Weavers of Saramyr, The Skein of Lament and The Ascendancy Veil. The version I have has them all compiled into a 900+ page novel.
 
Get involved in the Starcraft series and buy the books, too!

That way, you can play the game and then see it novelised, or vice-versa. Although, there are (as of yet) only two novels, which basically narrate the game. The other books are all original stories, written by the authors.

"Liberty's Crusade" and "The Queen of Blades" are sexy if you've followed the Starcraft story.

Anything by Raymond E. Feist. Most of his books link up together in some way, it's just one big world.
 
Digital Fortress, an excellent book by Dan Brown.

Smry: main character works for some hidden organisation, some Japanese dude hell bent on pwning all their asses, send them big crazy virus, and involves some fat dude nameb Jabba :elmo:

It's well good, he was a drug addict and his mam and dad throw him in rehab. There are one or 2 bits that made me cringe, especially when he had to have root canal done without pain relief :gasp:

True story btw. T'is very gewd :monster:

I'm not much of a book reader, but The Dragon Keeper is a good series not much to do with sci-fi though.

Stormbreaker is also a goos series that's sorta sci-fi :gasp:
