And you made these all with GIMP? O_O Christ, I had that thing and couldn't do anything with it. It's impressive you could turn out all these sigs and icons.

The thing with GIMP is that your images have to have great graphical potential, otherwise they will turn out bad. With photoshop, you can turn nearly any image into a nice sig/icon/whatev. GIMP lacks a few essential tools like selective coloring and exclusion rasters, and the ones it does have are lesser quality than that of photoshop.

Something Yu Yu Hakusho related! Moar Kurama, I say! Perhaps Yokou Kurama, next?

Perhaps. Yu Yu Hakusho graphics are unfortunately rare, so I suppose I'll go on a Yu Yu Hakusho frenzy to compensate, since I really like the anime. Not right now though.

You're quite welcome. I knew GIMP lacked alot of stuff, so that would explain it. :dry: Not to mention I was just plain bad at it. Right now I'm using Adobe Fireworks, not as versatile as Photoshop but it's good for learning I suppose.

Ugh, tell me about it. Practically every good pic out there is too cluttered with stuff. And since I suck I need good clean renders.

Second icon is Reno, but who's in the first? Rufus, isn't it?
 
I got shit bases; the screen capturer saved the screenshots as JPEGs, and that was pretty much the only site that had Yu Yu Hakusho stuff on it.

Well I rather like those two icons, and that last one of Kurama too, so it's not too shit ^_^

Well you can just dl the trials, then enter a working serial. I don't think I'm allowed to give links, so just google "serials" and you'll find a good site. People can even rate the serials so you know whether or not they work. I think I'll do that for photoshop once I get a little better at Fireworks.

I've tried that a good few times in the past, but I was unsuccessful (I kept getting invalid serials). I tried it again last night, and although the serial I had put in was overrused, it boosted my trial another 30 days. Haha.

I can't do the YuYu Hakusho frenzy because I couldn't find many good screenies, but I managed to make a few more YYH icons:

I liiiike...the middle Kurama icon and the icon of L with the cobweb around him the best ^_^

Text is my weakness in graphics, I know. I will try to remake my most recent tag using better text. Another problem I have is that when I download new and better fonts, I don't know how to extract them and open them in photoshop/paint/etc. I need help with that.

why won't you try smudging I'm sure you gonna be a master with it ^.*

I have attempted it (and phailed), but that was mainly because I cba to read a lot of smudging tutorials and tips. Maybe I'll read up on it soon. ^^
 
It's easy actually I don't know how to insert fonts in photoshop but I think you can insert them from control panel then you move to the fonts and select your downloaded fonts try it ..^^

And wow, even your early works looks amazing! I remember seeing a few of these signatures around the forum back then, actually...

Anyway, I like how you tend to make solid background colors with little effects, not to mention clean and smooth. You manage to make it work somehow.

Your text aren't really that bad...I mean, they look great to me, but I'm not very picky with text, myself, so text in general (as long they're not too plain and looked like it was just added in the last second) looks cool no matter what. I can tell you work with your text at least, so that's something.

Nice avatars as well!
 
O_O You have a thread it's the first time I see it nice works by the way, I guess we all share the text problem >_< but I see your texts are fine
 
Lol, I didn't know this thread was bumped, so I went and created a new one. A lot of people are bad in text. In January I hardly ever included text in my sigs, but then I took the bull by the horns and practiced it.

Can someone close this thread, though? If anyone wants to continue the discussion then I guess they can do it in my current thread.
