Original Strategies and Builds Thread

Why don't you use a spirit stanchion set? I made a tidus set using elven mantle and 9 multipliers.

Yantra, exdeath appreciates not only high and omni block as low and mid block is much more instant. Almagest is better on ground and exdeath is safer there to actually attack.

Squall, you might as well put equips as these stuff are kinda obvious. I'd recommend EXP to BRV though. Why do you have these jump stuff? Speed boost is better.
Yes, I'm going to let mages gain major air on me while I can omni air dash near the ground and cant reach them, makes perfect sense. :/
Speed Boost is junk, Squall does best turtling and waiting on your opponent. or getting in close on them and mind gaming them to death till you can Beat Fang spam, heel crush dodge cancel them, or synthesize into an HP attack with Mystic Flurry or Blizzard barret, learn to play.

Fusilide is Squall's worst attack in the game.
Blizzard Barret can synthesize into Blasting Zone or (ground) Rough Divide.
ONLY if it hits in mid to close range though, but regardless it helps Squall's HP game.
Fusilide does what Thunder Barret does, but shittier.
Besides you never wanna chase your opponent unless you are REALLY good at it and well at the timings.
As for equipment/accessories, I do not use them, I play naked battles.
There is no skill in gaining mindless BRV points for 1 attack and getting quad 9s in 1 break.
Rather boring and the matches end far too fast, boring.
However I did update my Squall's abilities build by a bit and it works rather well now.

Ground BRV
○ Solid Barrel
←○ Upper Blues
○→ Thunder Barret

Midair BRV
○ Beat Fang
↑○ Heel Crush
↓○ Mystic Flurry

Ground HP
□ Revolver Drive
←□ Blasting Zone

Midair HP
□ Aerial Circle
↓□ Rough Divide

Actions
Ground Evasion
Midair Evasion
Ground Block
Midair Block
Aerial Recovery
Omni Air Dash
Jump Boost
Jump Times Boost+
Controlled Recovery

Support
EX Core Lock On
Evasion Time Boost

Extra
Snooze and Lose
Counterattack
Sneak Attack
Riposte
Disable Counterattack
EXP to HP

BB>Solid barrel

also, I recommend speed boost over jump boost, since it makes squall ground game all the more better

snooze and lose is just crappy on squall

if youre goal is to force the opponent to come to you, concentration works alot better

btw, are you playing against cpus or real people because against real people, squall matches are never short, and hes has a huge disadvantage in none equip matches

Okay, so Ive been working on a bunch of different sets, and Im gonna post the ones I think work best

First, force begets courage Zidane(I also use the same set for my firion)

Weapon: Heaven's cloud
Equipment: EX seeker artifacts

accessories:
Force begets courage
Pearl Necklace
Ivory choker
Ivory choker
After summon used
Before opponents summon used
Empty EX gauge
Full hp
easy come easy go/ large gap in hp for firion
Bravery elemental

summon: Iron giant

strategy: The point of this set is to gather up a huge amount of brave and finish the opponent as quickly as possible. When the match starts, activate iron giant immediately. Then proceed to swift attack/ free energy to drain away their health and brave while raising yours. Done right, this set can be really deadly, and if you do one of zidanes full combos, it can be a hit KO. PS, this set requires you to kick ass in thirty seconds

Second is, lai strike Ultimecia

Weapon Ultima weapon

equipment: EX seeker artifacts

Accessories:
lai strike
Center of the world
Hp 100% (you)
HP 100% (opponent)
Pre-hp damage(opponent)
Pre-hp attack
Large gap in brave
small gap in hp
summon unused
opponent summon unused

summon: If opponent does an hp attack their brave is frozen at zero(forgot name)

strategy: since any hit of ultimecia's attacks can activate lai strike, use it to your advantage. This set should allow you to break the opponent every time unless youre really unlucky. Continue to gather brave, dont get hit by hp attacks, and finish it in one hit

Give zidane dragonfly orb as you need to deal damage for ex force. Center of world is special acc. Why not shooting star for weapon and what other equips are you using?

I dont need dragonfly orb because EX seeker artifacts gives the same affect and more.

Ultima weapon works best with my setup, since Im trying to stay at full health the whole time. If lai strike doesnt activate, then Ill still be doing massive damage, which is just what a brave collector like Ulti needs

Right now Im also working on a set where Bartz gains 1000 brave every few seconds in EX mode

What's with center of the world and what equips besides weapons are you using? Can I have a terra and golbez build?

I like to run an HP crash build on Golbez, as most of his attacks can Wall Rush. For Terra I prefer a sustained EX-Build to abuse Doublecast.

Im using artifacts for equipment

center of the world is a necessity on any EX build

Sustaining EX mode is a bad idea except on a select few characters(mainly just kefka and possibly garland)

Terra must get to EX as fast as possible, so the classic Center of the world + Close to you along with a pearl necklace and some boosters(preferably before summon used with your summon being alexander along with large gap in hp and so on) and then using the rest for attack raising accessories(red gem and red drops). Your weapon must be heaven's cloud.

For Golbez, I recommend either a lai strike build(due to him having a 3 or more attack combo on average) or a damage build(since his attacks are weak). The damage build is a hybrid set involving either a full attack boosting set or a half attack boosting set and a half crash hp damage boosting set.

What do artifacts do? Wouldn't star earing + multipliers do more damage? how's that bartz set going?

artifacts are special equipment gotten from playing people online or irl and some have very useful abilities. EX seeker has a similar ability to close to you, except better.

The thing about accessories though is that is difficult to keep all of them active

I suppose for Terra you can try it, since boosters will also help your EX accessories, but for golbez, having a set made entirely out of red gems/drops and strength powder and the like will deal more damage then a damage set unless your booster is over 10

I pretty much made a set for Bartz involving regen already, but have become unhappy with it recently, and have returned to a simple attack set.

Center of the world doesn't really help much. Anyway, what a squall build and that bartz set like?

most squall builds are centered around getting EX quickly in order to EX guard and get you the finishing blow.Squall builds are really basic, just the classic Close to you + Gravitorb + pearl necklace and some multipliers should be enough. If you want a really quick match, increasing the initial brave could be helpful, but overall, its best to stick to the simple EX.

Center of the world is good if you want to save EX slots but if you have the space, it is better to equip other things.

For the Bartz set, I ve been trying to think of something unique meant to help specifically Bartz, but I havent been doing so well =/

Center of the world barely does anything though. Would a machine build help? Can you name some certain combos of him (unguardable)?

I am trying to make a Wall Rush HP set for Cloud, but I don't know what are the correct equipments and accessories for the set. Can someone please give me some good examples for a Wall Rush HP set?

although this may sound strange, cloud is actually alot better off without a pure wall rush set

with fenrir and a single sniper soul along with some boosters, an omnislash v5 at just 2000 brave will pretty much bring the opponent to near death. Instead it is better to focus on other things to make Cloud better.

Cloud for one has one of the best EX mode in the game, able to charge in on anyone without fear, as long as you have some fire pressuring of course.

This setup grants Cloud an excellent EX Force absorbtion in all aspects and a great Wall Rush HP damage boost. You'll be able to collect EX Force while attacking and even when you're being hit because of Close to You, and your EX intake range should be pretty good because of your booster accessories. My personal setup is this one:

Basic
-Gravitorb
-Pearl Necklace
-Sniper Soul
Booster
-HP = 100%/Champion Belt/Sniper Eye
-Large Gap in HP
-Large Gap in BRV
-After my Summon's used
-Opponent's EX gauge > 70%
-After opponent's Summon was used
Special
-Close to You

This Setup grants you more potential as the fight drives on. The set really begins to shine once both players have used their summons. Since most people use EX setups, the Opponent's EX Gauge > 70% accessory will be up for most of the fight until your opponents enter EX mode by EX guarding your attacks or to deal more damage while they have you at their mercy. Equip Fenrir with this set and enjoy dealing around 150% Wall Rush HP damage with Omnislash Version5 which will almost automatically trigger the Large Gap in HP accessory. You should use the HP = 100% against players that aim for OHKO kills like Squall and equip a Champion Belt or a Sniper Eye against characters that drain your HP step by step like Onion Knight or Zidane.

adamant is a pretty stable equip on cloud since you just need those little boosts in brave to set you up for a brutal omni

Excuse me, I have a build for Zidane that seems totally functional, and I have not seen anyone try it on him in this thread. The only one I remember seeing for him, I tried and I could not deal with it to be honest. So here is my build for him.

Ivory choker - ex force absorb+25%
Attractorb - EX intake range+2m
Tenacious attacker - absorb EX during attacks
Prettoy orb - EX core absorption+15%
Gaia Ring - Damage+15%
EX Mode
Ex Core present
and whatever other bossts you find usefull

We should leave some sort of customization, we cant tell people what they are good with tbh.
