Storyline

I created the "Ochu Tentacle" because in FF games is common to make items out of ochu tentacles. It was set for non attackable items, for armors and such.

I finished Eruyt Village, though the shop in there needs a few things like a Crafting Tool and some potions, maybe expensive Ochu Tentacles.

I also finished the Altzimus-Fran conversations.

Finally, the Giant Malboro boss, located in Arden Forest East, waiting to be tested :D

I created a test copy of Giant Marlboro in Admin Island. I lowered the EVA to 80 and removed Haste. It seemed rather hard to take anything off your monster with EVA 100 and the MAG DEF 100. Adding Haste made it tougher. Now I could put Haste back and leave the EVA at 80, Julius. It got rather easy without the Haste.

What do you think, Julius?

Remember Berserk, Haste and Absorb are user only spells. They should remain that way. Osmose will be user only as well.

OK, I chose to lower the EVA of Giant Marlboro to 80. I kept Haste. Also added 6 Hi Potions and Hi Elixers. I figured this made up some for lowering the EVA. The 100 EVA made Giant Marlboro impossible for people using physical attacks.

Ok, the ifrit and shiva side-quest things are all setup. The old man at Warbs bridge grants you access to either one, for the small fee of 1,000 gil.

The old man needs to feed himself after all. Also, if you die or run out before ya make it to the shrine, ya get to start all over and pay the old man again :D

Well I think that the link won't work unless the area the NPC sends the player is set to visible once visited....so players could just, use the world map to access those caves -_-

I am not too sure though, since ZT changed some things of Inferno...

They cannot access the caves if they have not talked to the NPC first and have been granted access. Of course, we can always set the entrance to the cave to not be accessed by world map. But that really is not needed. Since people cannot team in Tiel's areas. The same applies to my areas. Oh it does not matter if the entrance is set to visible or invisible, it will become visible once access has been grant. That is the problem with the grant access trigger. It will not keep an area invisible. But the following areas, in the cave, will remain invisible.

I added a Moogle Mergent to Warbourne's Bridge. Did not finish it. It will be the NPC to grant access to Arden Forest West, when people reach level 50.

I got an idea for one of the next areas. Which has to do with the Medallions. We could have two areas. But people could only access one. Once they access one of the two areas, they cannot talk to the NPC again to grant access. There will be a group condition that says that they did not reach either area yet.

Once they complete one of the areas, either medalion will be taken (depending on location) and replaced with a plaque. By doing this, they have been sworn into either order.

This is just an idea. It does not have to be done. This could be later on too.

We could give Giant Malboro your "Smokescreen" spell and remove haste. I know that people will keep teaming up to defeat Malboro numerous times, thus earning the experience of that battle like 5 to 6 times...We could avoid that by making the area that links to G-Malboro battle a limited part for 2 party members. That way if they have summons they won't be able to team up.:wacky:

About your idea, sounds cool. Fill me with the details and I'll come up with as many books as possible. You two could write some, Tielknight could write about the "Legend of Castle Ex-Death" and how hard Ex-Death was to defeat.

By the way, I need someone to check my shop in Eruyt, you know second opinion. I added two set of gloves, one for mages and one for Warriors. The Gloves can't be used to attack but can be used in combination with medium and large swords. So a character could equip a medium sword and one of those gloves.

Since the gloves can't be used for attacking I added the following:
-Power of Hero: Increases STR by 10
-Guardian Force: Increases Mag by 10 and DEF plus 5

I also added a Shield, a Sword, and Claws. Maybe I should add a Helm and an Armor, or we could have another Moogle Merchant selling them elsewhere.

We might also need an attack type and restrict its use to Large Broadswords, Medium Swords and Huge Swords, since Attack of the Warrior can't be used with Large Broadswords, though I am not entirely sure.

As for your idea Koloth, we could give a special item for the users of each area. If they choose one side they get X Item, if they choose the other they get Y Item.

I was thinking of adding an attack type for large single weld items. I just have not come up with what would be good bonuses. I was thinking about 80 percent STR bonus. Because dual gets 40. Then making a -20 DEF. Also it will have a 1 ADR.

Make it for Huge Swords, Broadswords and maybe Bows. Also it requires a level 100 Combat.

Ok, I'll make the attack type :monster:
What do you think of the Gloves I added? :wacky:

Later on we could add the "Enchanted Gauntlets" Item Type, and have them cast spells, but with zero stats except for maybe DEF and Weight. We could make the Gauntlets cast a spell with higher percentage, then again I am not too sure...

I added Blizzara to the Moogle Merchant. Now this gives the Tonberry pet a special spell. Lantern will not be offered in any stores. I did not want people to have two fira type (level and damage) spells sold at the Library. This will keep a balance to the game.

I want the Tonberry to be a better pet because the quest to get the pet is harder and more tedious. So the player deserves a better reward.

I am also thinking that the single weld weapons and attack type should be better, at the Moogle Merchant. To balance single weld against dual. Maybe the single weld weapon could have a STR bonus.

I gave Heavenly Sword a 25 STR and 10 DEX bonus. Also, it costs 25K instead of 12K. I figured the 150 STR insted of 100 STR and the STR and DEX bonus made it more expensive.

I'm thinking of adding a code-book of sorts. There will be several books that are written in a code and you'll need that book to decipher it. After they are decoded, they will tell you stories, secrets about upcoming places perhaps.

Still just a idea :D

Don't worry about it, Julius. I read your post in the Headquarters Lounge. Hopefully, I got things balanced against Dual Weld. I may make another large weapon, for Moogle Merchant, that is about 40K... It has slightly better bonuses and is around 200 STR 100 DEF and weighs 200. With an enchantmenet of 100.

Maybe it has a 50 STR bonus with a 20 DEX bonus. We could also have it require a certain amount of wins, like you did with the armour. Maybe it requires 500 wins.

Yes, balance between dual and single wield was the best thing to do. It will also helps us to avoid making really nightmarish areas.

Besides I always enjoyed single wield, I think I'll use a shield and a sword.

I am not sure though, but I changed the God of War to increase str by 100% since it reduces Eva and Def. Maybe we should add one later that increases STR by 120%, I am not too sure though.

My reasons were that, after analyzing the Attack of the Warrior, it doesn't matter how strong the God of War is, players will deal more damage with the Attack of the Warrior. Also getting and mastering the God of War isn't that easy.

Because players might not use it you see:
Attack of the Warrior increases STR by 40% and when used with the second sword, the user's str which was already increased will be increased again by 40%, reaching STR LVs above 500 and even to 700 STR.

Also you are dual wielding, meaning that you'll deal twice damage. If you increase your str with attack of the warrior to 700 and attack twice during the same turn, it will make it easy to take down other players, mostly mages. Not to mention that when combined with Berserk.

Well, we need to make components that give single weld a big advantage. I will work on it. The Phazon Orb only gives a 20 bonus. Maybe Phazon Orb should have a better bonus. For example, maybe 50. I will look at all the Phazon type components and modify accordly. We could give Attack of the Warrior a -10 DEX bonus. Since I gave God Of War a +40 DEX bonus.

Yes, and that will make people love Phazon items even more :P

I also added a few images of several shields. We need to add staffs, shields, and other things beside swords.

Maybe we could make another "Needs certain number of Victories/Battles" NPC like the one I made to add a cool sword or item. Maybe add one in the Warrior Guild area and another in the Mage Guild area once they are made.

Perhaps we could make a whole new Valencia, seeing that the area is quite abandoned....

I added Longbow as one of the items to get bonuses with one of the Phazons. I forgot which.

Yes, I could make Valencia visible to all again.

By the way, huge weapons, like Huge Sword, Longbow, Batleth are two handed. So they cannot be used with shields, rings and gloves. Just thought I would remind you. Only medium and large weapons can be used with shields, rings and gloves.

Hey, Julius, you only need 2 more crown fragments. You are almost ready to fight King Tonberry.

I moved the location of the Secret Room. Because I had a very hard time selecting it, without hitting an area of the forest or the original Library. Sorry

By the way, I already stated this in RPG Realm. No monsters with character percentage stats. Except for bank guards and special holiday monsters.

Decided to change potions in Moogle Merchant. Made Secret Tonic give 500 HP and cost 1000 gil. Made it cheaper since the Hi Potions (250 HP) only cost 300 gil. Shiva's Blessing remains 2500 gil and gives 500 MP.

I also added a staff which gives a 400 MP and 40 MAG bonus. I figured I would be nice to the Mages. Since they did not get any really good new spells. Blizzara is just an ice version of Fira. I was going to add Flare. But I have not decided yet. What do you guys think?

Hey, I came up with a crazy boss idea. How about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? They represent what goes with war. Each one would have a spell that would take a big chunk off one of your stats.

Pestilence:

Rides a white horse. Carries a bow with no arrow. Does not have a great deal of attack power. But has good mag. Spell called Pestilence- steals a lot of DEF and gives it to themself.

War

Rides a red horse. Carries a sword. Has a huge amount of STR and DEX. Spell called War. Takes a lot of HP. Not as bad as Death though. But it does not miss.

Famine

Carries scales. Steals a lot of MP. Maybe some HP as well. Spell is of course called Famine.

Death

Rides a pale sick looking horse. Carries a scythe and of course has the Death spell.

Also, where are my manners? I hope you are feeling better soon, Julius.
