This is a very recent release and has a great cast, and to be honest I expected to hate it. The trailer makes it seem very juvenile and that put me off from the beginning. Basically, it's a fantasy based film, but it's not overly confusing like I thought it may be.

Usually I wouldn't want to go and see it if I was unsure, but I was given two tickets to see the premier and I thought that was quite cool. Also, part of the movie was filmed in a part of where I live. A small ciy called Norwich; wooo!

It's a really well made movie and the part that made it great, for me, was Claire Danes :inlove: My god, I had no idea just how gorgeous this woman was! This film is worth seeing if not just for her!
Seriously though, I would recommend this film to most people. Very well made, good acting and easy to follow. Let me know what you think!

I've just read a review on this and probably feel a bit like you did. It doesnt really seem to be my type of film so I'll probably wait for it to come onto Sky or maybe pick it up if I see it cheap enough.

I love the look of the film, but its just the title that puts me right off. It looks like my ideal film, beautiful witches and sky pirates, but that title, IMO ruins it.

I saw the trailer for this, and when I found out Claire Danes was in it, I was turned off entirely. Sorry, but I don't like her at all. =/ In fairness though, it looks decent enough. I just don't think I'd see it anytime soon...

Me and my friends are going to go see it next week ^_^ i think it's more a girl thing though, since Beckys the one forcing everyone to go :D

It looks good though, and i've only seen 2 or 3 movies that i really hate at the cinema, and i enjoy everything so...should be a laugh XD

I love fantasy films such as this one. I'm really into fantasy novels and at least with a movie like this, it just broadens my imagination.

From the previews I've seen there seems like a lot going on, and I'm not really sure what the plot is of it. I haven't checked out a lot on the film because I'm afraid I'm going to find something that is going to ruin it for me, since I probably won't see it until it comes out at the dollar movie theater, or until it comes out on DVD.

Seen it and loved it! It has become one of my all time fav films and Im defo getting it when its released. I cant find fault with it, the acting is super, OST is amazing, graphics are stunning and the story is one Ive been waiting for.

See this people, its brilliant!

This film does look good and, with any luck, I'll be watching it this week! I asked my friend if she'd like to go. I have to say, I'm only really watching it 'cause people here have said it's good. The kiddy look put me off at first. >_<

I'm more looking forward to The Golden Compass! But that's for another thread. :P

I'll say what I think of Stardust when I've seen it. ^_^

Glad someone else agree's!
Because of the storyline, it does appeal to girl more I suppose. That's why it is my secret shame film :shame:
Lirael, trust me, you'll like it. I think they've just chosen the wrong clips from the movie. But I suppose if they show much else it could give the story away.

I can't wait to see it, as soon as I saw the trailer it was just my kind of film, I intend on going seeing it next week if I can convince anyone to go with me LOL and I love michelle pfifer(sp) and robert de-niro

I watched it today! ^_^

I enjoyed it a lot. The casting was so well done, I must say!

Tristan was quite honestly... hot (I do hate that word...) after his hair changed. =] Haha. The longer hair suited him a lot better. ;)

Anyways, I was unsure of it at first, but the plot was very good, although predictable at times. I thought it a highly comical, and it made my friend and I laugh frequently. :P Every character was acted perfectly. I was convinced by each role, which is always good in a fantasy film.

I hated the ending. Haha. So... cheesy (I hate that word too. >_<)

Captain Shakespeare... Haha, he was wonderful! Loved the moment where the CanCan's playing (those who've seen it will know what I mean).

Just superb. If only the ending hadn't been...
"and they lived happily ever after".

Saw the movie today, and i loved it. Sure it was oh so cheesy, and predicatable, and cliched. But it was a perfect mix of those things that instead of being annoying it was...fabulous.

Michelle Pfeiffer clearly stole the show, but Yvaine and Captain Shakespeare were brilliant as well.

Sadly however the ending was just too cheesy.
"And they lived as twin stars in the sky... happily ever after"
It was just a big let down.

The ending seems like people's biggest problem with this film and at a push I would agree.
For me though, the rest of the film outweighs the weak ending; at the least the rest is brilliant :)

I loved the ending as it was a true romantic fairy tale ending. It made me cry more as they were still together even after their reign over their kingdom.

My boyfriend asked me a good question. He said that when
Tristian had the ruby necklace the 7 dead brothers changed into orbs, but one turned red and went down the screen instead of going to Heaven with the others. He doesnt see why. I thought it was because he wasnt killed by any of his brothers like the rest were and didnt asend to Heaven with them. He was killed by another, but my boyfriend said if youve killed someone you dont go to Heaven, so what do others think??
