Square Enix promising a “little surprise” for this week [4/5]

It's probably going to be IX on the PSN. But if it's a FFVII remake then I would imagine there being a lot of heart attacks among FF fans.

If it was FFVII I think alot of us would have a heart attack indeed but that means we can't play the remake! Ohnoes! :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::x3:
 
I, for one (and I'm probably the only one), am hoping for this to be a US release for that Four Warriors of Light game on the DS.
Of course, since that's probably never going to happen, something about a V or VI remake or maybe more XIV info would be neat too. I just hope they don't decide to do a VII remake before they remake V and VI.

I would love a VI remake on the DS. The remake of IV was great.
 
I'd actually like a VI remake for Wii, or, ideally, PS3 and Xbox 360. The handheld won't do the game justice, imo. IV remake was good, but I also would have rather seen an HD remake of the game. Same with VII, I hope they don't remake it for the PSP.

Don't worry. I'll bring every FFVII fan back to life with my Phoenix Down's :D

Unless of course I have a heart attack too. In which case I hope someone finds my large collection of Phoenix Down's and use one on me.

Oooh, and I would love a remake of VI. I haven't played all of it just yet but so far I love the game.
 
I think the key phrase here is "little surprise" I suspect it'll be a date for FFIX on the Japanese PSN, or FFIX being announced for the US and Europe. I don't think it'll be anything particularly huge, like a new game or remake being announced.

I think it will most likely be the release date of a game we're already aware of, otherwise it would be a much bigger deal.

Well, the world does not revolve around just you. There are other fans who would be happy for this. Those who are missing Disc 1, or their copies are just too scratched to play. With IX on PSN means you can play for as long as you want. If someone ever decides to play it about ten years later, they won't have any problems because there's no "disc" involved. Right?

And I do hope it's news about IX. Even if it's just for Japan atm, I'm happy it's making progress SOMEwhere.

Don't get your knickers in a twist, I'm just saying that I can't see why anyone would be interested in that. Even if the disc was more expensive I'd rather pay for that and play it on a real screen than a crappy tiny screen haha. And if they decide to play it 10 years later I will bet my left bollock that they'll have broken that PSP or something else that will prevent them from playing it straight away xD

I agree with Mark. As the title implies "a little", I think that maybe this news won't be earthshaking as we may think. It might just be that they can put FFIX on the PSN sooner than expected or that they have someone new on the team to get games in development going faster. It doesn't sound like a remake or anything :sad3:
 
Probably will have to do with IX. They would say a big announcement if it was one.

I just hope it's actually something we really care about though. I hope they weren't just saying it out of the blue to get us excited >_> I don't think it's anything too big-- such as a new game etc as some have said most likely IX. That's what I think. Guess we shall see huh? :monster:
 
I know what it's gonna be, it's gonna be...Final Fantasy V for PSP! xP Nah, don't think so, but I'm just saying something different, they've gone through I, II, III and IV, it is viable, but not reliable, wouldn't count on that at all. :P

How many people think it is going to be something about a Final Fantasy VII Remake, I wonder? That answer will also answer how many people will be let down. <.<
 
I think it depends on how you interpret the tweet. On one hand their use of "little surprise" might just be their humour which then turns out to be something quite big, but on the other hand they might actually mean "little".

Having a look at Hashimoto record, he's produced and/or helping to produce the Kingdom Hearts series, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy IX so my bet it is that it could be something on one of those, though I suppose it could be Final Fantasy XIII DLC or the Final Fantasy XIV Beta for PS3.

I wouldn't put money on it having anything to do with with Final Fantasy VII, that sort of stuff comes out at E3, TGS etc.

I'm hoping it's either a Versus release date or a mention of a FFVII remake. Call me sad but I'm still a little girl at heart. I spent most of my childhood playing FFVII, Advent Children made me squeal with joy and so will a remake. I'm well aware that cashcow has been milked dry, but I'm happy for them to squeeze the last drop out. :x3:

A Versus release date would be laaarrvely, even if I haven't even finished FFXIII yet! (Chapter 7 still and it's almost been out a month! :D)

I like surprises though so :x3: for good measure.
 
A final fantasy IX release date is hardly a surprise, we all know its happening we just don't know exactly when. Its news, but not a surprise.

Having said that I still don't think this is going to be anything noteworthy.

"Earlier this week, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto posted a Tweet at the Square Enix Members Twitter account promising a "little surprise" for this week. That surprise was revealed today at Konami's Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker completion ceremony.

Konami has drafted Square Enix to develop Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker figures. The figures will be released under Square Enix's Play Arts line and formally known as "Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Play Arts Kai."

The first figure in the collection is "Snake Sneaking Suits Version." This will arrive in June.


This summer, the lineup will get three boss machines. Later in the year, between summer and fall, the lineup will see figures for Snake in army fatigues and the giant Cocoon boss."
