Square Enix: Project X Will Make Media 'Do A Double Take' [6/5]

Square Enix's David Hoffman has said that the upcoming announcement of the highly secretive "Project X" will make "the media do a double take".

Hoffman has been teasing the game via his Twitter page for a while now, and whilst an E3 showing is likely, he says the PR announcement is finished and ready to head out.

"The PR announcement is finished for Project X. Can't wait to get it out and watch the media do a double take!" he said recently, once again via the blue bird. Luckily, it looks like this will be one announcement that won't spill out before official unveiling is due. And, hopefully, it will in fact surprise the living daylights out of us.

Wow. His arrogance is really something isn't it? I'm sure it's a great way to motivate his colleagues and all, but I'm not buying it. He's really blowing it out of proportion now, acting like this game is the second coming of Christ or something like that.

Well SE, I'm giving you a chance. Apparently it's western developed, so hopefully we may see a different flavour to what SE in Tokyo & Osaka have been giving us lately. It had better be interesting.

Well, Deus Ex pretty much "blew my socks off" and I'm not even a particularly big fan of Edios, so unless this project eclipses that then I'm unimpressed. Of course, that Deus Ex trailer wasn't the Square-Enix side of the company so it's bound to be better than "project X".

Esoteric messages about how good some upcoming project is serve no purpose other than to further piss people off when the end result turns out to be something mundane or ridiculous If they're going to bother making press releases, they should at least give out a little information; otherwise they should just remain quiet until it's released and let us decide for ourselves.

When is E3 again? In a week? It seems the more SE hype this game up, the more likely it is to be a huge fail.
