Square Enix Confirm Western 2010 Release

I'm planning on doing the same. Not saving up for a playstation 3, cause thankfully I already have one of those. But I mean playing the earlier Final Fantasies. I have them all, but never finished them. And I have some spare time coming up.
So plenty to keep me occupied while waiting. Although it still kind of sucks that it won't come out this year. :(:(
 
That's so disappointing.I was so looking forward to that and SE announces us another let down.
At least I hope they don't change the date again and our patience pays off with a worthy game.
 
Even though I expected as much, this news is a tad bit disappointing =/ I guess I'm glad they're taking their time on it though. I have really high hopes for this game, so at least they're taking the time to make it good.
 
The only thing that might be good about this is that possibly the PS3 will go down in price by then. Well, I hope at least >_<
 
April 2010? I won't be able to cope :( It's bad marketing from them I think to. The longer you wait the more good games are gonna come out. The earlier it's released the more likely it'll be to get that 'awesome for its time!' bullshit gamemakers love.

But hey- if means it'll be made properly (which it probably doesn't lol).... I jus wanna play this and versus soooo much!
 
I heard that its going to take even longer because they put back Dragon Quest 2 months. They said it might affect the release date of FFXIII.
 
Wow . . . April 2010 . . . thats a long while away, but not really in a way. I just hope they do an excellent job with it, so when it FINALLY comes out, it will definately deliver a true FF experience. I guess it gives me time to play some other FF games though!
 
Lol, im sure they just have to fix some bugs and glitches, no biggie, buts its worth the wait. We hardcore FF fans are freaking out b/c we have to wait longer, but just think of the moment when you first start playing it, whether it be on the 360 or PS3, PEACE.
 
if the game is as long as its rumoured to be, then itll take a little while to translate to english via voice dub.

ive herd that they also started development in 2003, and was 1st suppose to be on ps2. wouldnt that make it the longest developement game in final fantasy or even ever?
 
I don't see how they could have started production in 2003 seeing as X-2 had just been released. And i think they wanted to modernize FF so if they had started production, i'll bet they trashed it on account of the graphics for the ps2 greatly differ from the graphics of the ps3 and 360. But aside from the graphics they would have to have to probably have to eng voice dub, most likely going to be at least 2 discs, and lots of other things i can't think of b/c its to early in the morning.
 
accordin to the ff13 website it says a 2009 winter release.
but every1 says its 2010 release
so which is right?

The Japanese version will probably come out in winter 2009. But the US will be 2010, and the European will be even later. Its sucks being last.

I wonder how many replays il get through of other FF's before it final is released in the UK!

You'll be seeing conflicting dates from different regions, but both yourself and they're right. You'll be looking at the Japanese website hence the reason it says Winter 2009, whereas, NA are looking at around April 2010 and Europe Winter 2010 for their release. So they're both right, it depends on which region you're looking at.

I guess you could say this is the one thing I don't like about FF. They will push back the date further I bet as well. Either way though, I'll be patiently waiting for it's arrival. I have no doubts that this FF will be as epic as any other, so I'm not worried about hype at all. But until then, I'll be keeping an eye out as the date gets closer.
 
Well, since we'll get ours last probably, the additions that will be put into the inevitable international version will hopefully be incorporated into the EU one ^_^

What would cause such a big time gap for NA and EU anyway? It's not like the game needs to be retranslated for the english speaking EU countries. Unless they don't like releasing until it's been translated into all the other languages?

Meh, at least now we have a hope of getting the int changes, just like FFX ^_^
 
Well I just got my new Game Informer magazine and it has an article on FFXIII. And it says that SE is looking for a release towards the 2nd half of 2010. And I had to relook and read it 2 or 3 times, but its also for the 360 as well as the PS3. So thankfully I can play this on my XBox as well and not have to buy a PS3.
 
Because PS3s are sooo cheap!

Q2 2010 release date...
Oh well. Gives me time to save up some cash for a PS3. Up till now, I've refused to buy a PS3 due to the costs. I mean, I'm a college student; I don't have that kind of cash on me!
(And even though Star Ocean and Tales of Vesperia are on XBox360, I'm not buying a 360, either. The horror stories of the "red ring of death" might be overblown, but I don't want to take my chances.)
