Okay, so at the end Fang and Vanille scrafice themselves to become Ragnarok and go back to their crystal stasis.
How did this trigger the return of Dajh and Serah?
I looked up the story FF wiki, and they said that Dajh and Serah awoke from their crystal state because the fal'cie were gone? If that's true, then how come Fang and Vanille didn't wake up from their crystal state?

Oh, and how come although they knew that destroying Orphan would cut off all the power on Cocoon, they still fought it? Wasn't that the complete opposite of what they wanted to do in the beginning of the story? "Save Cocoon! Protect Orphan! Boo Barthandelus sucksssss!" -- that's how they were on Ch 11.
I mean I understand that Orphan was a fal'cie who also wanted to destroy Cocoon and bring back the Maker, but why did they have to fight him?

OH and did anyone else think that this ending was spectacular? One of the best endings I've ever seen in any FF, I think.

If it's so spectacular, why did it leave so much up to speculation? I thought the ending sucked quite frankly. It explained nothing and was merely visually appealing.

Comparing to other FF endings this is right up there with that of FFX and FFVIII to be honest. Well the only logic I had from it was that they awoke because they were apart of the fal'cie plan (Serah was bringing them together to be l'cie and sazh's boy (dnt wanna spell his name) was brought into it by bringing vanielle to them in Ch 9. I rather enjoyed the ending and it gave me that real happy feeling like it's all better now and it was very spectacular indeed.

Fang and vanielle maybe when into crystal form because look they just used all their energy to save cocoon. I don't know I am kind of guessing here :L.

Fang and Vanille were stuck in a crystal tower miles off the ground floating in some liquid thing. Even if they DID wake up, they'd probably fall to their deaths, or be trapped in the crystal tower and starve to death.

As for killing Orphan, they were trapped in the room with him and he was attacking them. Had they not faught back, they would've died. This would actually help Cocoon in the long run, except for one small detail:

The fal'Cie could just give someone else their focus. Someone will eventually complete the focus and destroy Cocoon, and if no one does they'll all be Cie'th. Basically, no matter what they did, everyone would die. I guess they figured to take the option that gave them the most choice over what happens, although I'm not sure they knew that they could just use Ragnarok to save Cocoon (except Vanille and Fang, of course).

I think that the secret of all this is when orphan say something like " the born of a new cristal legend". Maybe fang and vanille turned into more than cristalls, they turned into something more like a fal cie, since falcie are machines with powerfull cristals inside, maybe those girls adquired the power to wake everybody from cristal state, and also to guide dahj and serah to their friends. you can hear vanille talking about making miracles herself, and waking up lightning with her voice. cristals are the main motive in the serie, so maybe when they turn to cristal they gain some unknow powers.

about the party killing orphan, they denied to kill orphan up to the last moment, until fang decided to do it herself, fang complety lost her mind and pushed everybody to do it herself and end it all ( the most confusing part of that scene for me ). when fang refuses to continue, the group comes back with apologies to fang for letting her carry the heavyweight alone, and also with a new message " Lets do it, we have a vision, we have a new focus, lets kill orphan and hope for a miracle, everything is going to be ok".

I like FF stories :)

Fang and Vanille will wake up one day. They are separates crystals, all they did was finish their focus that they didn't do 500 years ago. This ending has full of speculations, full of it.

With Orphan dead, it's possible that Eden also dies, and if that happens, it's possible that the other Cocoon fal'Cie also die. However, Serah was branded by a Pulse fal'Cie, Anima, so I don't think this explains why Serah comes back, especially since I got the impression that Anima was killed when it fell down to Lake Bresha.

After re-watching the ending video I also get the impression that Ragnarok itself turns itself into crystal, i.e. Fang and Vanille transform themselves into the pillar, and their crystallised forms within the pillar are just a bit like the 'hands' of the pillar. If this is true then it explains why they don't turn themselves back.

let's not forget that the entire party became cie'th...then defying years of people being stuck as cie'th they instantly come back.

also HARSHNESS - the cie'th piled on to her? wtf were they doing??? eating her?? nasty...

more harshness - orphan heals her, tortures her, heals her, tortures her, :O :O :O

and one last thing...although the ending was awesome to watch it was also ridiculously hard to see what was going on and made no sense...ragnarok jumps into lava, draws stuff in from pulse, lots of weird exploding and liquid impossible to see....then for some reason sprays the liquid all over coccoon and forms a ridiculously elaborate crystal...a plain crystal pillar was fine whats with creating a world cup like statue?? random claw like part reaching round the top of cocooon made no sense

Oh, so only Fang and Vanille became Raganarok? I thought all 6 party members joined as one, 'cause it looked like the 4 burst into black sparks and joined Fang/Vanille Ragnarok beast O.O

Honestly, the story does confuse me, even after post-game xD

the black sparks where the pulse creatures if i remember rightly, vanille and fang absorbed them to become ragnarok.

I was rather disappointed by the ending. Yes, there were cool, flashy graphics, but it was very difficult to see what was going on. And the main underlying story-line between Serah and Snow ended with just a simple embrace? Shouldn't he have like run to her and swept her up? I felt like the ending was bittersweet, and not long enough to give justice to the entire game. There should have been more...maybe I'm just spoiled by the ending to VIII...:hmmm:

How come they killed Orphan?...............

I thought they had to protect Orphan instead of killing it as the cavelry were planning to slay it!

And also why did Fang and Vanille stay crystal?...........

Lighting did turn crystal for a second..............then she went back to her normal for,I'm not sure if the rest did though..............

Also how did they exactly "save cocoon" when it was technically destroyed by Ragnorok.........and everyone was moving to Gran Pulse?

Please reply someone!!!

(Wish they updated the datalogs)
