Do you believe in it?
Share you experiences please.

Do you believe there is more than just one dimension?
Do you believe in the afterlife?
Paranormal?

I do and let me tell you some things I experienced.

First experience was when I took pics of the famous cemetery in paris.
I saw faces and orbs on the pica which were quite spooky and coincidental.
Orbs of light are described to be the reflection of dust, but I think its quite funny tht only certain dus particles will reflect light back into the lense.

My friends mother told my future and of some others.
She would depict 3 situations.
I could only remember 2 of them which came true.

She said you will receive a big gift soon and someone in a long coat would tell me something that would reassure me and lift a big weight of my shoulder.

Week later my grandma gave me 1000 bucks for future plans like moving out or driving lessons. Some time later this man told me you are forgiven and you wony have to pay a thing. When he walked away I saw he was wearing a long coat. I actually threw rocks and destroyed his window when I was in a drunken haze. I felt so relieved.

Other story. My friends and I were smoking massive joints and I had someone's
Skateboard. I had the skateboard put horizontal between my backpack and back. I looked at the shadow and I swear it was like Jesus on the cross. Look Jesus! We were stoned btw. Weird thing was two guys had their own clothingline which was called psygoat and their logo was a goat. Symbol of satan right? It felt like evil and good was trying to reach me. Those 2 were hard drug users too. Coincidence?

One time when we were stoned again out of the blue a branch fell. It was pitchdark and not a breeze just windstill. I decided to take a pic xD.
Obviously pitchdark pic. Friend of mine suggested zooming in so I did. Nothing ofcourse. Go to the right and up. Bam there we all saw a torso and one atm and a head like a freeking demon or something :P

I know we were stoned paranoid and I know the fact that our brains always try to see patterns and make the pic or photo into something we would recognize, but still spooky aye? :D

Unfortunately I have never seen a real spirit... Only stories about them.

Once when I was nine I was convinced that I saw my great grandmother clothed in black mourning clothing: a long black dress, a black hat with a beautiful feather made of some synthetic material, and black church shoes. She was a tall woman with an average face, there was nothing strikingly unique or refreshing about her countenance but she did smile at me. I saw her at my grandparents' home in Jamaica because I was staying with them while my mom had taken leave from work to get a surgical procedure done. I remember telling my grandmother that I saw this "tall lady in black clothes--in church clothes," and I don't think she ever believed me ... whether it was denial or skepticism I'm not sure. But I saw something ... some phantasmal image of a tall and wonderfully amicable woman in that house--right in the little passageway between the hallway, the guest bedroom and my grandmother's bedroom.

That said, I come from a very superstitious family, some members are more "spooked out" by stories of ghosts and specters than others. Myself? I've grown skeptical of the years but I feel there's possibly some grain of truth to it. I've never had another ghostly experience myself but I can share a few occurrences of ghosts that my own family saw. Once, when my older cousin was very little, about 3 or 4 years old, she saw this little old white lady in her mother's apartment (my aunt). Every time my cousin would stare in awe at the old dead lady who smiled pleasantly and she would point out and call, "lady, lady." Needless to say this left my aunt and mother very concerned and so they hired an obeah woman to come and flush the spirit out. According to my mother there was an extensive obeah (which is an iteration of Haiti's voodoo for my culture) ritual performed involving various herbs and water and some incantations for the spirit to "leave this place." The ghost never returned. She was the previous owner of my aunt's apartment and had come to "check up" on her old place of residence. Creepy shit was creepy even IF she was friendly. None of the ghosts, mind you, that my family members ever saw were violent.

My mother, as a very young child, could smell the scent of a man who had long since passed. She described the smell to a very horrified and worrisome mother--my grandmother. Her mom told her that the man she "smelled" was a neighbor of theirs who had passed away sometime before my mom was born and he always had that lingering scent when he was alive. It wasn't a putrid smell of death or anything intolerant it was just distinct to his person--not unpleasant but not wonderful either. My grandmother has also seen our great grandmother on one or two occasions and relayed this experience to my mother and other relatives.

They were shocked.

Another time, my mother had a few dreams that signaled the deaths of my grandmother's brothers. One dream involved my mother picking out piece of putrid flesh from her mouth after having an extraction performed on two of her teeth. She saw two older women in the bathroom as she was spitting up the flesh in the sink and told them of her little "flesh-spitting" plight. They both warned her that something horrid would happen and that this was not a good sign. A few weeks later my grandmother tearfully called and told us that our Uncle Lloyd had passed away from his severe drinking and smoking problems---he's contracted cirrhosis of the liver and died from complications. My grandmother stayed and held his hand and watched him die on the hospital bed. Another dream my mom had involved our old home's backyard--the one we just moved from. There were holes that had been freshly dug up by a shovel and my mom had opened the back door and peered out and seen them. A curious neighbor across the road saw the holes and told another onlooker that, "... we can't go to that house ... there's something wrong. There's something wrong there." A few weeks had gone by and we found out that our Uncle Percy had contracted pneumonia, he died from complications a few days later. Once more, my grandmother held his hand until he passed away.

What's interesting is that my mother never had these odd dreams unless someone was going to pass away in our family. I'm now thoroughly convinced that she's gifted with some intuitive gift of ominous insight--her dreams signal the death of someone close ...
So yes, knowing what I know of my family and the women in particular who have experienced some extensive ghostly sightings--I can confidently say that I'm a cautiously skeptical superstitious young woman. Don't tell me ghost stories because you'll spook me out and I might believe you if you tell me you know of a haunted house on Street XY and Z.

When I was not even 12, I used to deliver newspapers.

On sunday, the paper was delivered early. I would be awake and making my rounds before the sun came up. Everyone would still be asleep and it was cool as I got the watch the sun rise.

One morning, I was walking along a path lugging as many papers as I could carry, and it seemed like someone whispered shrilly in my ear. I turned around. No one was there. But, I definitely heard a voice and it definitely said something coherent that I could make sense of. There was no one and nothing remotely near me.

I went back home as quickly as I could grabbed a knife and carried it on me for the rest of the morning. I was pretty rattled.

Being 10 or 11, I wasn't drinking, smoking & can't think of anything that might induce hallucinations. There wasn't anything near me and everyone is asleep at 4 or 5 am on a sunday, no one took credit for it being some type of practical joke. I'm pretty certain it was real.

I've seen weird things I couldn't explain which cause me to think there's more to life and the universe than simple materialism.

I've seen and made threads like this in the past. Its surprising how many have had things happen to them they couldn't explain.

In some cases, I know of atheists who became religious after having these types of things happen to them. So, it can be interesting...

I have never had a spiritual experience of any kind.
I don't believe in it so if something 'mysterious' happened I would probably brush it off as something that could be easily explained if I was smart enough rather than dwell on it thinking that there are ghosts and whatnot in my house. Though in my dads house there is a cupboard that the dogs bark at every now and then and that the cat hisses at sometimes, that kind of creeps me out but eh.

So far only my cousins saw strange figures and entities. I always told them they were just paranoid.
It seems that little children, animals and the elder can see things that we cant. Does it mean that they are really there?
Its intriguing.

Dogs are even able to smell diseases of their bosses so maybe just maybe they can see spirits ofsome kind.
Great stories pll especially Sneakerpimp's story gave me goosebumps hehhe.

Keep em coming!

My neighbor told me when he was younger he saw a woman in his garden. He was upstairs in his room looking out of his window. The woman told him to come. He was in a trance so he almost jumped out of the window. Fortunately his brother grabbed him and snapped him out of his trance.

When I hear more I let ya know. We used to tell eachother spooky stories of the time. Real or just for fun it was entertaining alltogether :D

My friends have told me of different strange things happening to them, but my life has been completely normal so far :hmmm: I have never had any supernatural experience of any kind. And yet, it's hard to just brush off the things by friends and some family members have told me. Why can't something cool happen to me :sad3:

Maybe, since after I said this, something crazy will happen to me tonight :hmmm:

Afterlife? I do think so. For religious reasons, and simply because I think different dimensions is possible and and I believe in the soul so, our souls gotta go somewhere.

I waited until me and my sister(Tori) made it into our room before telling her and my other sister(Terra) what happened. But to this day the only people that believe me are the both of them. :/ My parents don't even remember me telling them about it the next day...

I had something similar happen to me when I was very young. :hmmm:

AFAIK, its old houses and buildings where things like this are prone to occur. :ohshit:

If you live in a house that is old or work in an old building these types of things may be common. :hmm:

...

edit - I'll add a few more stories.

My grandpa was a bulldozer driver who worked on the construction project for one of the major highways in hawaii. They plowed down a forest and blasted a hole through a mountain to create a tunnel. As one of the bulldozer drivers he said once there was a huge boulder he moved. The next morning when he arrived at the work site the boulder he had moved the prior day was right in the middle of the road where it had been before he moved it. Actually, that area is known for weird things happening so its not necessarily surprising.

My dad is a carpenter and construction worker. Once he came home from work & said they were renovating an old house or building(I don't remember) and after they poured the concrete and had it how they wanted it they left to take a break. When they came back, they said it looked like there were huge claw marks in the concrete they finished pouring. He also said tools weren't where they left them & things were being moved around when no one was there.

Well, living in hawaii, I know of at least one example of supernatural incidents snopes considers to be true. :ohshit:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Claim: Tourists who have taken rocks from Hawaiian beaches have returned them in hopes of ending streaks of bad luck.

Status: True.

Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2001] Hawaiian legend - anyone that removes a piece of rock from the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park will incur the wrath of the Godess Pele. Supposedly terrible curses follow those that do prompting them to soon abandon the rock(s) in interest of self-preservation.

Origins: Can a souvenir casually pocketed on a Hawaiian beach bring misfortune? Though the more skeptical will scoffingly dismiss the notion as pure hooey, thousands have come to believe that yes, volcanic rocks taken from Hawaii fetch with them a curse of impressive proportions. And the only way to undo the jinx is to return the purloined items whence they came.

Legend has it that Pele, goddess of fire and volcanoes, is so angered when the rocks (which she sees as her children) are taken from her that she exacts a terrible revenge on the thief. She is especially protective of volcanic rock and sand, two items tourists almost unthinkingly pocket as mementos of their vacations. After all, who would miss a rock? Pele, apparently.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and far too many hotels to name receive a never-ending stream of packages containing sand, shells, and rocks from guilty-minded vacationers who are intent upon reversing their sudden downpours of bad luck.

Many of these returns are accompanied by notes begging forgiveness of the goddess or detailing litanies of calamities that have befallen these casual purloiners: Please take this sand and put it back somewhere on your island. I have had very bad luck since it came into my life and I am very sorry I took it. Please forgive me and I pray that once I send it back where it comes from, my bad luck will go away. Please return to soil. I have been having bad luck. Ever since we have taken items, we have had nothing but back luck and medical problems. We apologize for taking items, so we are returning same to Hawaii. We placed the rock last fall on a cast iron chair in our garden, this spring the chair's leg had fallen off. This is the least of the problems we have had since we have taken the rock.

Pele's supposed curse is not a mild-mannered one. Those allegedly afflicted by it don't misplace their car keys or develop runs in their stockings — their bad luck is of the grievous variety. Pets die. Jobs are lost. Houses burn down. Sudden and devastating illness strikes loved ones. Marriages break apart.

The Los Angeles Times reported on the sad case of Timothy Murray, a 32-year-old who scooped some of the unusual black sand from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park into a bottle and brought it back with him to Florida. Everything in his life immediately went into a nosedive: his pet died, his five-year relationship with a gal he was to marry ended, and the FBI arrested him in a computer copyright infringement case.

The native Hawaiian view of taking such souvenirs is that it's tantamount to stealing from Pele while visiting her home. Only the return of the stolen items appeases her wrath. Some believe the curse is the invention of park rangers who became fed up with visitors making off with little bits of the island. Whether the curse has an ancient origin or a modern one, many have come to respect it thanks to the cascade of bad luck that descends upon those who take volcanic keepsakes.

U mad? ^_^

I've never had any experiences of the sort. I guess the closest thing to this I've had is dejavu (the kind where you dream something and it happens sometime after), but that's something completely different I guess. I personally don't believe in anything happening after death, but I realise that there are people who do, so I would never try to argue with anyone who does believe in it of course. That's just twatish :)

I am spiritual, naturally, but I'm not, consciously.

I'm a realist, so I'm pretty agnostic and a lot of superstitions and spiritual beliefs just make no sense to me. But I grew up believing in all of this stuff until it eventually became me. I don't believe any ghost or entity exists, but at the same time, I feel like they do.

It's difficult to explain. That's the best I can do for now.

I believe in the paranormal mainly because I've witnessed an apparition once in my life (so far.).

But as far as spirituality, I'm more of an unorthodox Christian than anything else. I never go to Church (they bore me and make me feel like I am wasting my time), I rarely (if ever) pray, and I'm a proud narcissist.

So why do I consider myself a religious Christian despite all of that? Because I've studied Jesus extensively and I have my own interpretations of his Word. :awesome:
