I'm assuming no one has made a thread about this yet? I just saw the movie several hours ago, and I thought it was pretty damn good. Well, I was actually a little disappointed though because they hyped the movie way too much in the trailers (regarding Venom), and when I finally saw it,
I was really expecting to see more of Venom, only to find that he only had a small part in the movie. I mean, if they didn't hyped it up too much, I probably would've been more satisfied with the movie. I also felt that Sandman wasn't really needed in the movie...and there was too many villains, even though Harry and Parker did come to terms in the end.

Overall though, I thought it was cool. I'll give it an 8/10. I heard it was the most expensive movie ever made. =/ Just wow. Hmm, but I really like the first Spiderman better though. 3 comes next, then 2. I guess with the first Spiderman, they kept it simple, whereas in the second and third one, it was more complex.

Damn you woman! *Envy* How were your seats? I was going to go see it tomorrow morning, but I'm far too ill.

Really, I think it's best not to listen or read anything anybody has said about the movie. If you haven't read what critics wrote, or gotten a friend's take on the movie, then avoid it. I found that as I was sitting there, the little comments about what people said were in the back of my head and I was judging the film. That is not how you want to watch this movie, so please watch the movie before the listen to critics.

I know. I wanna read the spoiler posted by the wonderful Black Mage Mitsuki, but I'm holding back. As far as I'm concerned so far, I'm already disappointed by Venom. Topher Grace was a horrid pick to play the part of Eddie Brock. And the Venom toys as well as what I've seen of him in the advertisements for the video game all appear to be far from what he's supposed to be portrayed as in "teh" comics.

I'm really loooking forward to seeing this movie, maybe I'll beable to see it sometime this coming week. I really liked the other two Spiderman movies.

I thought it was a overhyped pile of crap when I saw it yesterday, now I just feel it's an average movie. I won't go into specific details but being a big Spidey reader and with Venom's inclusion as well it was going to be a big ask to equal the last film nevermind beat it.

It was a movie that for every good part like anything with Jonah, the champagne stuff and the Sandman there were two bad ones like the script, the emo Saturday Night Fever segment and the absolutely dire butler scene with Harry which was sheer crap as a plot development (dues ex machina springs to mind).

I would rate it 6/10 overall.

I have mixed feelings on it. The action scenes were fantastic, and not OTT. It had a gripping storyline, that again wasn't OTT and the special effects were stunning. However, there were plenty of scenes that were comically bad.
Such as when Peter went all emo and was walking down the street doing his thang. I just thought "Oh god no". And I thought that after Peter had destroyed the Symbiote, it was awful. It was cheesy and made me feel sick. Plus the final scene was horribly ironic  I loved how the blast that destroyed the Symbiote was enclosed enitirely between the poles too. And how did Harry survive the blast when the bomb went off inches from his face?
But nevertheless, I still thought it was an amazing film and I'd recommend everyone goes and sees it.

You didn't like his whole emo character? Hah, I thought that was hilarious. A lot of people were clapping every now and then in the theatre...that's what made it cheesy for me. -_- Other than that, I really did love his sexy dances...it was a different side of Spiderman, you know? A refreshing change, as you may call it. xD

Yeah, it was kinda cool
like in the jazz bar,
but I couldn't help but laugh at it. It's definitely the best one out of the three so far, but I can't think who the villain in number four is going to be? Maybe Dr. Connor turns into the lizard?

Oh and The Sandman's speech at the end, and then Peter forgives him? Please no more like that. I know he's a nice guy and all, but it was just pathetic

Pooleys pretty much right. i went and saw it today and i thaught it was more like a romantic comedy through most of the film, that and venoms host was surprisingly camp

Villain in number 4, huh? I would think Carnage. Now that would be cool. And in the comics, didn't Venom and Spiderman team up for awhile? I hope they bring Venom back in 4...IF they're making a fourth one.

And yeah, you guys are right about Peter being too nice. I really think that they kinda portrayed Spiderman a little different than in the comics and cartoon series. Spiderman's supposed to have an attitude. Toby McGuire as Spiderman is way too passive and emotional, IMO. And plus he's way too boyish...but whatever, I still like him, so...

Carnage was in this one.
And some of the actors are contacted until Spiderman 6, so there is going to be a few more. Apparently they've already shot the fourth one...
Maybe the Butler will try to get revenge? xD

It was so-so. Toby Maguire going emo was bizzare, Bruce Campbell with a french accent was rofl and Maguire shaking his arse and hips at me on a giant screen is pure torture!! I liked Venom though, yet the love triangle with Pete, Harry and MJ annoyed me once again. God I hate MJ, always have done and always will.

Spiderman ok but why did they continu on makeing a Spiderman 3 when I have not seen the 1 and 2 moves.

I liked the movie and i agree with many of the things you guys are saying - emo peter being bad, him doing his thing down the street was painful to watch, not enough Venom, etc - but i have something to add to that -

Mary Jane - i HATED how she was always asking if she was good enough, if peter loved her and just her general pessimistic attitude

i thought MJ was meant to be a positive character...i think she turned out to be more emo than spiderman

It was the worst film I could have seen with my guy when we were discussing our relationship not 50 minutes before the film. I was trying my best to fight back the tears and not get upset by those 2 cause I kept thinking bout me and my guy. Im a hopeless romantic ...
