All I can say is: What the fuck!?

Square Enix released its first iPod tactical RPG called Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes in Japan, the game is compatible with iPod Nano (3rd Generation), iPod Classics and iPod (5th Generation). In this game the enemies are mechanical soldiers who dominated the world, during the quest you can recruit characters to your team, and in the battles you can use music as weapons to attack the enemies. Music can be used to attack enemies, much like casting summon spells, different song types have different effects. Song Summoner can be purchased from the iTune store for 600 yen.

Lol interesting. I don't have an iPod, but from the looks of it, I don't think I'll be missing much of anything. Quite different though, I'll give ya' that.

Well...they really are expanding to ALL platforms then >_>

I´ll download this myself, since I have a classic iPod, just to see if it´s worthwhile. I´d like to see how it would play myself though xD

I bet it drains the power quickly though.

Wow, that looks interesting...
I'd download it but I don't really think it'd be worthwhile...It'd drain power waaaaaay too quickly. >.< I don't even watch movies on my iPod. Still, I am curious to see how it works. :P

Errm...yeah.
Although it looks interesting I can't actually see it being good. :wacky:
I mean, it's one thing making games for mobiles but it's a slight step backwards when they do it for iPods. My iPod is only used for music and videos anyway so I won't be purchasing it.

Meh, it shouldn't take up too much power seeing as you can emulate GBA games to the Ipod. I fail to see that it'll sell, high.

Pfft, waste of time. No-one's going to play games on the iPod, and guess what? It's going to divert valuable SE resources from worthwhile projects. -__- Profitable? Yeah right.

Making a game for the ipod doesn't make a lot of sense to me. SE needs to be spending their time finishing up the tons of projects they are already working on, instead of creating new ones!

As for me, I doubt I'll get it. I only put music and vids on my ipod, and this game doesn't look that great...

That's a little bit surprising to me, as I don't really see where they thought this would benefit them. I mean, sure, lots of people have iPod's, but how many of them are used for playing games? I doubt many people will even know about the game, let alone purchase it.

It's all very weird to me, and I really have to think about buying it. I might do it just to add to my collection, but I doubt I'll really play it that much.. But who knows?
