So...Lucrecia is Awful

I remember back in FFVII. Lucrecia was just a scientist who gave birth to Sephiroth. Sure she was with Hojo but it was entirely possible she was taken in by the lunatic or maybe kept in the dark about it all.

Then I got through Dirge of Cerberus.

I can't feel sorry for the woman anymore. She's not purposefully evil but at the same time, she's so incompetent that she might as well be.

Vincent says its his sin because he couldn't persuade her to not experiment on her own child... That's just stupid. Am I supposed to buy this? It's the bitch's fault for doing it. Vincent is completely innocent.

What bugs me is we're supposed to sympathize with her. She killed Vincent's father, gave up her child to a psychopath, put Chaos in Vincent....
She is the worst love interest in the history of fiction.

"I'm sorry" doesn't excuse this level of stupidity.

Vincent needs to say fuck you and move on with his life. Hook up with a woman who beats him, calls him names and cheats on him. It'll at least be a step up from Lucrecia.

I thought I was the only one who thought that about Lucrecia. I guess I never really felt too sorry for her in VII (mostly because I loved Vincent's character and hated that he was stuck on her), but I really hated her with Dirge of Cerberus. It has been awhile since I played the game, but I remember hating her a lot more than I originally did. Anyway, I am glad to hear of at least one other person who thinks the same way I do on this subject. My friends off-line don't agree.

I agree 100%.

While I never felt sympathy for her in the first place during FFVII, I didn't completely hate her or anything, but after DoC I think my initial reaction was something along the lines of pure unadulterated hate, well, more like annoyance.

For being a scientist she was pretty damn stupid.

I don't know...I kind of felt like her giving up her own kid was pretty evil. I mean, seriously, would anyone less then evil/crazy sacrifice their child to some creep? Sometimes throughout DoC I felt like she was just a wolf in sheep's clothing, acting nice, but on the inside a little less then kind-hearted or sane.

I agree,but Vincent obviously loves her........I guess that may be why SE doesn't make her look like a bad person or anyway......or it might be her..........she doesn't really look like a villain does she?

But like you said it's definately not Vincent's fault.........it's hers!

It's been a while since I played DoC, but I guess as the story progresses to the end, we're suppose to appreciate Lucrecia's regret and the penance she's kind of going through...or something

And she did try to save Vincent too in the past and around the end of the game, right?

well sometimes there is just that someone that you will love no matter how much of a bitch they are

kind of like your parents, or maybe your significant other.

but in the end, most of the FFVII compilation is a poorly written fanservice. I'd try not to be too angry about it.

agree 100%! Lucrecia is not only too idiotic for her own good, shes annoying too with all the 'I'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm so sorry' when her actions are a bit too powerful to made up for by constant apologies
