I can't get over the fact that this might actually be the official music video for "Simple and Clean", the Kingdom Hearts theme song by Hikaru Utada.

She's seriously... washing dishes. WHY IS THAT related to Kingdom Hearts? xD

Holy crap, she is? o_O You'd think she's singing about something that's not physical... This is weird and I did not know that. Oh well. I like the English version better :lew:

I wonder if the English lyrics are actually a translation of the original? Or the original really isn't about washing dishes besides the video :ahmed: It's a mystery :gasp:
 
She's Teaching everyone to wash dishes because half of the World are just playing Video games.

It's somewhat weird that she would be washing Dishes for an offical music Video. But I can't say it was bad. I have seen worse.

My sisters said (they are her fan fanatics) she funded the video and directed it, something along the lines of not having enough money?
 
That doesn't seem like a music video to me. I can appreciate it as a funny home video kind of thing. If it is supposed to be a music video, well...I often like strange things, and I love the song, but that just doesn't do it for me. One can simplify music videos greatly, but that's rather too simplified for my tastes.
 
I suddenly find the entire dish washing Segment rather hypnotic.

This is the fifth time Ive reqinded back to that part.

I swear she's trying to take over the world with her Dish washing Skillz. :gonk:

But in all seriousness, that sounds more like something someone would do as a joke than a serious music video to her song :lew: not that it bothers me, just odd

The Japanese lyrics are all about her being lost in the darknesses of everyday stuff and her love "lighting" the way back to her. At least I'm pretty sure. I just skimmed through the translation. xD
It has nothing to do with washing dishes... unless she just loves her dishes so much that they light up her life.

It is unfortunate that some of the words in the english version work that way (namely the title).:worried:

"Simple and Clean
Is the way that I make dishes

It's hard to get dirt off..."
 
Someone should re-dub the video with dishwashing lyrics. :| Especially with the words above.
 
I don't think the songs are solely for Kingdom Hearts, they were her own songs first and then probably handed over to/asked for by KH/SE -- I think I read somewhere she only really wrote a song for KHII. But anyway, they are songs of there own as well.

Her video Goodbye Happiness has the same vibe as this one actually; {link} I think she just likes doing her own thing like this.

And not to mention Passion for KHII has its own weird and unrelated to KH video too :3
 
1. This song isn't specifically about KH and the dish washing could be like her way of saying like she's feeling as simple and clean as the dishes she's washing o.o
2. She looks like she cant decide whether to lip sing or not o.o
3. I opt for her next song to be named "Complicated and full" and for her to make me some pb and j in the video :mokken:
