Sig shop awards???

I was thinking we have rewards for best Gfx and rper and such Why not have a awards thread for the Sig shops... heres some criteria

Let me know what you guys think... and if mods if you like it throw it up plz!!!!

Best In Customer service: (nicest shop master)

Quickest creator: ( sigs are created quickly)

Best newcomer:

Sig master: (most coolest sig created)

Most active shop:

Best Welcome mat: ( first post of shop creativity)


Thats just what i came up with if you got any more post em...
 
Hmm i actually think its a pretty good idea. A lot of the members take a lot of time to make sigs for people, they deserve some more recognition.
 
I like the idea, however, I think the difference between RPing and Sig Shops is that the RP is much larger and therefore, as can be seen, there are a lot of awards/nominations whereas sig shops alone can produce good awards. yet limited. If the proposed awards awards are implemented, this will most likely be used with GFX awards as a whole - which are normally given in the forum awards around May/June time.

However, whilst the ideas you have proposed VV are grand, there are some minor issues that would have to be resolved, which can be done, however, the award names may have to be changed.

That could be done for how well the sig shop owners deal with their requests, not, how good the finished pieces are.

Quickest creator:
May have to be tweaked. How quick someone can create a certain piece may depend on what the customer requests (how difficult the render/stock is to use, size of piece etc) and even then certain people will have styles that take much longer than others to create.

Best newcomer:
That could generally be used as a GFXer as a whole, although newcomer would have to be defined more clearly, a person who is new and just set up a shop or a new person to the GFX world? Although, like I've stated, I think it would be better to create an award on this based on a new gfxer (someone who is just starting to GFX) as a whole rather than a shop person.

Sig master: (most coolest sig created)
That would seem fine to me. The only slight problem I can see is potentialy bias towards a sig a GFXer has made for you rather than all of their creations. But that's just a possability and will most likely not happen.

Most active shop:
Fine. Although there's the possibility that it may be that the shop is more active because of how good a GFXer is rather than it's generally more active - but that is always going to be the case with this award methinks.

Most active shop:
That could fall under the Best GFXer/Best Signatures/Avatars award we already have as the material shown in the first post of most shops (if not all) will probably be taken into account when deciding those 3 awards.

That's just my 2 cents on the matter, but a great idea VV. ^_^
 
I think it is a really really good idea, however, I think since the GFX section is booming right now, it would be even better to have general GFX awards - with several towards signature shops - but more varied, so everyone in the GFX section has a chance.

Example of awards that could be added -

Most Professional Signature Maker
Favourite SOTW Theme
Most Promising Signature Maker
Most Improved Signature Maker
Best Avatar Maker
Best Signature Maker

And so on and so forth. We could add on a little subsection to the GFX lounge to have a load of voting threads too - and possibly have team awards for the Graphics Clans.
 
I'm with Mark. If we were to do something like this, don't just limit it to Signature Shops. Doing it that way makes it VERY restrictive.

Also, Clan based awards would be pretty cool too. Might also spark interest in TI >_>

If I think of any ideas, I'll post them but I'm still half asleep. -_-

Edit:; I want to point out that if we go ahead with this, it's going to take a bit of planning, so please try and be patient. Pestering us to hurry with it (yes I'm looking at you Nic) will only serve to irritate us. -_-

We're discussing the awards in HQ now, so we should be able to get back to you in a week or so, but feel free to keep posting ideas here ^^

But please don't be disappointed if we're not ready to launch the awards in a week, these things take time and planning ^^;
