Okay this has been annoying me for the past year or so now.
Now I'm the first child of my mum and dad.
When I was living at home I was given a curfew of 10pm that eventually went up to 12am.
I was not allowed to be in the car with any of my friends or boyfriends when they were driving.
I was not allowed to drink alcohol even at home. Not even on my 18th birthday or well after that. Still to this day my mum will tell me off for it.
I always got questioned about my whereabouts. My parents ALWAYS called me every two hours or so to see where I was with my friends or boyfriends.
I couldn't even leave the house in my own car that I paid for, when I wanted to, so that I could just go visit a friend.
I was never allowed to drive my parents cars if I was desperate, if my car was dead or something. I was not even allowed to drive their cars when they sat in the car with me!
Now the real annoying thing is this:
My brother gets away with all of the above things I just mentioned.
He has been allowed to drink alcohol before he was 18 and even have friends over to do the same.
He is allowed to piss off to his girlfriends (who's still in highschool) in my mum and dads car and not come home till he 'feels like it'.
He has no curfew. He's never had one.
He's always just jumped into his mates cars and pissed off and they never questioned him about it.
My mum and dad LEAVE him the car when they know he'll be home and want to drive around and such, because he doesn't have one yet.
I WASN'T EVEN ALLOWED TO DRIVE THEIR CAR WITH THEM IN IT, AND I COULDN'T EVEN PISS OFF IN MY OWN CAR, LET ALONE THEIR'S!
They never check up on him either.
I don't know whether it's because I broke the ice being the first born and I was the freakin' guinea pig and then they just went 'Oh we didn't need to be that strict, so we'll just let her brother do whatever the hell he wants.'
Or whether it's because he's a boy. <_<
Does anyone else have this problem with their siblings?
It's so unfair that parents should treat their children differently. It's bound to cause arguments.
Though I'm not that annoyed for the most part. I live out of home now and if I get annoyed with my parents when I'm visiting I just leave and know that I can go back to MY HOME! And they can't tell me to do anything anymore. <_<
