These two seem to have alot in common, especially in their beliefs. Obviously Seymour's intentions are different but the way they talk of Spira is very similar.

So, do you think that Seymour got alot of his ideals and perceptions from Yunsleca when he met her after he and his mother travelled to Zanarkand, resulting in the creation of Anima?

It does seem that Yunalesca, from what she says to Yuna and co. and some of things Seymour says, that she had a big impact of Seymour to me.

well maybe ... btw why did Seymour went to Zanarkand with his Mom ? who was the summoner actually ?! and why didn't Seymour die in the first place since he defeated Sin using his Mom's fayth "Anima" ?! and Also Yunalesca, how come she lived all this time after using the Final Summoning ?! I know she's an unsent but why not Braska turn into an unsent too ?!

Why was Seymour unsatisfied with his power. Did his Mother turn into Anima for more and more power? What exactly was between Seymour and Yunalesca? Why did Yuna's parents name her after Yunalesca?

He wasnt a summoner, and his mum became a fayth to give him power because eh got bullied or some shit as a kid and wanted him to be able to look after himself...I think. Im almost sure yunalesca didnt make is mum a fayth. The purpose wasnt to beat Sin anyway. Shew just wanted him to be stronger

Although I didnt know they had even been to see Yunalesca in the first place...:gasp:

Why was Seymour unsatisfied with his power. Did his Mother turn into Anima for more and more power?

Because he became obsessed with the power Anima gave him I expect

and as I said above, I think she became Anima so he could have the power to look after himself, he just abused it. Im sure its in the story somewhere as a flashback with him as a snivelling kid and her agreeing to become anima for him....

What exactly was between Seymour and Yunalesca?

Naff all as far as Im aware

Why did Yuna's parents name her after Yunalesca?
what does that have to do with the price of chips...? Dont try to take the thread off topic pelase. She was an old summoner, braska was a summoner, same reason why people name their kids after people they respect, and look up to I guess.

I think that Seymour and Yunalesca just had the same ideals, but went about them in different ways. Not sure if there's any more to read into it, I may have missed something in the story, its been far too long since i played it D:

they named her yuna becuz everyone was showing respect to yunalesca for being the first summoner to beat sin. Braska new his daughter was goin to be a summoner so it was only fitting that they named her after the supposely greatest summoner.

Keep on topic please - this is not what the original poster is asking

He wasnt a summoner
Actually yeah he was. In Macalania temple, before you go and fight Seymour, you can go in one of the rooms and learn about him. They explain about him a a summoner, but he went on to become a maester instead of going on a pilgrimage or something like that.

No, that's not why she became Anima and there was never a flashback of him snivelling as a kid...there was a flashback of him crying and begging his mother not to become a fayth. He never wanted her to become Anima. He wanted his mother next to him, taking care of him, just as any young child would.

Ahhh ok, that part makes sense now. Must. Replay.

I knew it was something along those lines, I remember the flashback about his mum, I just couldnt quite remember what it was, it's been a good few yeas sinCE I played through it. I guess she should of listened to him, he might not have gone all corrupt the way he did.

I think Seymour is very different from Yunalesca. Firstly, Seymour was totally insane due to his troubled past. He had been exiled from Guadosalam into a wet, murky temple by his own father. That would disturb any child mentally.

But when you see the memories Seymour takes you through in Guadosalam, you can see Yunalesca lived a pretty luxurious life. Her room was well decorated.

Seymour did take the idea of a lover for a pilgrimage companion from Yunalesca. He wanted Yuna, the way Yunalesca had Zaon. However, it didn't work out very well.

Also, Yunalesca, however twisted her ideals might have been, meant well for Spira by using Zaon and the Final Summoning to defeat Sin. It's pretty easy to think of her as evil when she turns on the party and attacks them. However, she did want hope to remain in Spira, even if it was only a temporary Calm.

Seymour, on the other hand, wanted to use Yuna as a kind of sacrifice. He wanted to die in the Final Summoning and become Sin himself. He wanted to destroy Spira. Yunalesca's intention was to save Spira, while Seymour wanted to destroy it and continue the endless cycle of death.

I guess they all hade the same common interests. Seymour, yuna, yunaleska, braska etc.
They all wanted to save Spira, to free it from suffering and pain they just all chose different ways of doing it.
Seymour believed that destroying Spira was the only way to ease its suffering.
Braska believed in the final summoning...that it could defeat sin permanently though he probadly knew it was only gonna last a little while.
Yunalesca didnt think sin could truly be defeated and used lies to ease the minds of the inhabitants of spira, her lack of faith was the downfall in my oppinion.
Yuna stood by her beliefs and actually found of way of eradicating sin for good, with the help of her friends of course.
Theyre all similar in their beliefs, its just their methods are different.
