I'm sorry but you are on your own here. We have numerous times posted in game quotes about Hojo calling Sephiroth his son, but you have yet to post anything from the actual game scritpt to prove your point or illusion. You continually tell many of us taht we are wrong adn that we have no prrof. What exactly is proof? The game script is the closest we can get to proof, and we've posted it time upon time.

Hojo: "Ha, ha, ha... Sephiroth seems to be counting on the energy. So I'm going to lend him a hand."
Cloud: "Why!? Why do that!?"
Hojo: "My son is in need of power and help. ...That's the only reason."
Hojo: "I've injected Jenova's cells into my own body! Heee, hee, hee! Here are...... Heee, hee, hee! ...my results!!"

You my friend are at the bottom of the pile looking up. You are hypocritically saying that Hojo can't be the father because we haven't posted legit sources. Above in quotes is straight from the game. Take a look in the mirror. You are saying the Vincent is his dad, and that he had sex with Lucrecia, but I myself and well as everyone else on this site, has not seen a single quoted post from you from the game.

I'd say your sorces are unreliable, but you haven't even posted any yet. Hmmm...:dry:

Running quotes from memory or other people's hardly constitutes solid evidence. Post the link, and I'll gladly call myself a hypocrite, a failed debater, and a victim to partial ignorance.

And puh-lease, don't diminish the mild respect I had for you.

EDIT: I'm sensing impending defeat. But like Grimoire (=D) stated below me, I only have theories (yes, some may be weak). How do I back up personal theories without proof to extend it upon?

In defence of Saix, I think we both look at the story in the same way, and that is that its OK to read between the lines and interpret the story as you see it.

I also don't remember Saix saying that ANYONE was wrong, he just had a theory, and I like it althought I don't agree with it.
 
Saix, are you arguing that you actually believe that Vincent is the dad? Or are you just arguing the theory or the 'what if' that Vincent could be the dad?

Neither, on a strong side. Bits here and there from both. I was merely attempting to see it from a different perspective.
 
But how can you have a theory when it's obviously wrong? That's like me saying Auron was Lulu's father. Hmmm, now there's a debate...but it's wrong. You can ponder and imagine, that's totally cool and fine by me. But when the actual game, THE ACTUAL GAME (where we get all of our info, experience, and ideas from in the first place), says that Hojo is the dad; amazingly enough, it's true.

What the heck are you talking about me proving what the game says? I've repeated it at least 2 or 3 times on here. I have it both in memory from when I played the game, as well as it's proven on every single game script that follows the game word for word. What do you want me to do? Get to that point in the game again, carry my TV, PS2, all hooked up, and paused at the spot of the game and drag it to wherever you live and show you it personally.

Be reasonable. You can't argue what's fact. The quote is in the game. Don't underestimate my knowledge.

Either way whether Sephiroth's dad is Vincent or Hojo, they would both be very ironic candidates. Hojo because of the fact that Sephiroth was always looking down on him, not knowing that it's because of him that he is as powerful as he is. Vincent because he helps murder the only child of the only women he's ever loved, knowing or unknowing that it's his too.

But I honestly really liked Grimoire's theory that Vincent's dad, Grimoire Valentine, could be Sephiroths dad. This would put whole new ideas out there like, does Sephiroth know that Vincen's his brother. Would this sibiling thing overshadow his rivalry with Cloud?

Yeah, that would be cool.....

Fine, I resign myself to defeat. Though I still have yet to see an actual document. Though I'm mainly looking at Aeris Gainsborough for that one.

So like I said I'd do... I apologize. To Lady Aerith for the possible grief (I don't know you all too well, so I can't exactly tell), Faith for persistently opposing your claims, and BustaMo for... well, being a jackass.

Theories retracted. But I'm still not sitting on a stone engraved with 'Hojo is Sephiroth's father.'

Hey, come on. I've never debated about something serious as this before. I'm not exactly a debater, but I opposed what you thought and just said what I thought. Nothing more to it really.
 
Come on Saix, it takes balls to be the only one with this idea and still argue it while literally everyone's against you.
 
Why do you people even post in here? Seriously. For those of you who disagree, ou know you're right. As sure as the sky is the color blue, you're right. It upset me the first time I read it because I hold the game very dear to me, but right now Omni is just arguing to argue. If you believe there is even a remote possibility, I'm glad you can be creative... but it's been disproved. Fun theory. Move on.

Don't argue. Don't call each other names. Don't get mean or threaten one another. Just move on. There should have been absolutely no more posting after the first page. You were wrong. You were proved wrong. I'm glad you're stating your opinions (except Omni)... but it's time to move on. And Omni, quit arguing just to argue. I do it to so I can see it a mile away. Smile, go "yay, I was rebelous", and move on to greater arguements and all that lovely fairy bullshit. Alright? Christ... move on people.
 
Omni, dood... this post would have faded if you had not posted such an agressive response (and its not even my bloody thread!) Nobody is threatening anyone, nobody is caling each other names. Jesus, the guy just had an idea, where are we living, the USA? nope a Final Fantasy Forum. Check out the word "Forum".

Don't know where you got that. I'm not even arguing. I already said that I think that Hojo is Sephiroth's dad, I was arguing that Vincent and Lucrecia did infact sleep together. I merely added the post about the fathers theory to keep this thread theoritical.
