I once threatened some jackass on the internet. I said I could track his IP, and go kick his ass. HAAA! As if I could honestly do that!
 
You just don't know, dude. I could get your IP, find out what company it's from, and then ask for your address. Then I'd come into your house and cook you into a rare steak.

Yup. Most businesses employ similar programs at their corporate offices, in order to track not only what their employees do in the building, but out of the building as well (only in the cyberverse, of course.)
