Rise From Hell ~Kei's GFX-

GFX Tournament 2009 Round 1

Great colours used in this one. They suit the theme well and give it a gritty, grungey sort of feel.

The image looks good, and I think that the text is the main focal for this with the image giving it support.

The text pops out a bit more and has good lighting behind it, which casts a shadow on the image behind it.

I do think that another choice of font is needed as the one used doesnt' really suit the theme in my opinion.

Very creative border used too I might add.

I like how the lighting is directed towards the centre, leaving the edges darker.

It establishes the focal more.

The image is placed well, as is the text.

Very pretty piece.

Lovely lighting and I like the smudgy look about it.

Teh colours are very vibrant and gorgeous to look at and the blending is done very well.

I think that the girl is a bit hidden and I think a bit of sharpening on her face would help her stand out more.

The text is a bit hard to read but I like the font used and the placement of it. =)

Great work!

Thanks, Kandy. ^_^

I'm proud of this one since it was my first try at a large piece other than the Album covers for clan challenges. However, I didn't like the font used for the back cover.

CnC, please.

I really DO like the font you used on the background. It looked really organized, and professional. Nothing too fancy or distracting making it barely readable.

I think you should be really proud of this piece. Taking into consideration that you said it was your first large piece along with the album cover.

You put great detail in the whole cover, making it look really eye-catching with the colours. Definitely worth buying. :ryan:

Good job, Ahmed. Hope to see some more new stuff from you. ^^

I'll post what I posted in the Graphics Tournament voting thread:

.Someone:

Portrayal of theme: 10/10

I think he portrayed the theme very very well. It was one that instantly stood out to me.

It came across as one of the few in here that really portrayed the theme of game covers well.

It was very convincing.

Quality of Piece: 8/10

The colours used in this work well with the particular game he used.

Great images used on the back of the cover and I like how there's a larger image at the top which fades into the description of the game below.

Not a real fan of the choice of text. I think that it looked a bit out of place on the back. Though the choice of font on the front cover looks excellent!

I think that the green glow around the second line of text was a bit much, but still came across fine. =)

Fantastic blending on the front cover as well, though I noticed just around his head it looks like it needs a bit more blending. Everything else flows awesomely.

Composition: 8/10

The front has a good focal happening.

The text is positioned very well.

I can't really see anything that looks out of place on the front here.

The only thing that sort of bothered me was the text on the back.

The angle it seems to go on down the middle in between the images just looks a little strange. I think it would look better if it weren't on that angle.

Other than that great work!
