haha people have to give you rep for good posts or if they agree with your post people will rep you. Just post lots of awesome posts and you'll get some :)
 
You won't gain any rep power (even if people rep you) until you have 50 posts I think. :hmmm:

You can see the rep people have given you and the comments in your user CP.

You only can see your rep power after 50 posts but you will know if you get rep if your rep saying changes. Just for the heck of it the highest saying is (insert username here) everybody just loves me. :)

Umm yeah.... like me....although now that i think about it, it's kinda creepy....my rep mostly comprises of men....

I wouldn't stress over it too much, I think the majority of people have realised by now it's a popularity thing.
