Reorganization of the RP section

Back again. =]
I've returned all of the threads to the RP section...Save for a few guide threads which will be renewed...

Although most of the last plan fell through, how about:
*Continue approving profiles with original/unoriginal placements
As well as Beginners/Intermediate/Advanced placements

*Encourage new RP makers to include "original or unoriginal" and "beginners, intermediate, or advanced" placement status in their RP signups?

*Encourage new RP makers to include "original or unoriginal" and "beginners, intermediate, or advanced" placement status in their RP signups?

I'm for that. Although informing the member which category it falls under would probably be best fit for this kind of thing.

I mean for instance, you could label your ORPG beginners, intermediate, or advance...pending on what kind of RPers you want to participate.

Yes, no? =]

I know what you meant, however I was thinking more along the lines of the staff deciding which category it falls under for them. No doubt a few people would think it'd fit best in one over the other, so making the judge decide seems adequet.

Oh, right. ^_^

Well the staff decide whether or not the RPs belong in the original or unoriginal sections...
But I'm afraid that limiting them as far as beginners, intermediate, or advanced would be too restricting.
I don't want to intrude too much on people's ideas. =]

Yep. It should be totally up to the ORPG's creator whether or not they want it to be beginners, intermediate, or advanced. =]

I catch that. ^__^

But for example, if I decide to make a new ORPG, and I want people to throw out the effort of posting 3+ paragraphs per post, I'd label my ORPG signup thread as advanced only.

OR...I could label it as Open, or Free to all character placements.

Beginners/intermediate/advanced would just be a heads up as to what kind of effort would be involved in the ORPG that you're signing up for. =]

The writer has the aim of which category in which it falls into, but the staff has the decision on where it ultimately falls. I think it'll help things retain 'levels' in Role Playing, to which makes it look far more orderly.

T'was my original thoughts... just decided to elaborate on them and argue my point. :p

Good ideas you've thrown in there, guys. It should really fall to the creator of the Role Play what standards that they should expect, I believe.

Well so far, I'm approving profiles with the following placements:

Original Roleplay section approval (Terra)
Unoriginal Roleplay section approval (Alexandria)

Beginners level
Intermediate level
Advanced level

As I approve profiles, I add a little note like the following:

"In case you're unsure of how approval status works, read on for a little bit of insight.
Most ORPGs have signup and discussion threads where you submit your character for participation in a specific roleplay. Before you sign up, be sure to check if the signups indicate anything about placement levels (e.g. beginners, intermediate, or advanced level participants).
"Open", or free-for-all signup threads will either indicate that they are open for all participants, or will contain no requirements at all; in which case, anyone may join, regardless of approval levels.

Need an example? Read on...
If someone labels their ORPG signup as "intermediate only", then only intermediate level characters or above may join the RP.
If for example, you've been approved for beginners level RPs, and you'd like to participate in a more advanced ORPG, you'd have to review and modify your character's profile and request a new approval status.

Remember, approval status is based on qualities such as sentence structure, grammar, originality, and effort. Having a long, drawn out profile doesn't give you an upper hand in achieving advanced approval."

How do those rules sound? =]

Sounds great, but what did you approve ME for when you approved my character? You never specifically said.

Sounds good enough to me. However...

You may have just accidentally messed this bit up, but if they state "intermediate only," I don't think it should include the advanced players.
If this was not a mistake, then the same could be said that those with 'beginner only' could include every type of role player.

I suggest amending this. Otherwise, they sound fine. =)

I understand your point of you, but however, I do think Rhea was saying that after all, anyway. :D

As you can see, I already noted that as a possibility.

I saw that there, anyway. I was just stating that Rhea could have meant that, but accidentally forgot to add it.
