Reorganisation of the FF sections

As you have noticed..we have a lot of FF sections. Too many IMO ;)
I was hoping to sort things out, and if people agree to having things reorganised, please post in this poll and give a reason why. If this idea goes ahead, people won't have difficulty in straining their eyes for a specific area, plus, people won't be put off by having so much on a main page ^_^
 
Because it's such a massive pain in the ass and it looks bloody horrible to boot, sort it out with basic forums with sub-forums within each like so:

  • First Gen - FFI, II and III
  • Second Gen - IV.V and VI
  • Third Gen - VII, VII and IX
  • Fourth Gen - X, X-2, XI and XII
  • Fifth Gen - XIII and Versus XIII
  • General Discussion
  • Final Fantasy VII Compilation - Mobile Games, Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerebus, Last Order + Advent Children
  • Final Fantasy: Ivalice Alliance - All Tactic games
  • Spinoffs - All other games dealing with Final Fantasy like Crystal Chronicles and Chocobo Racing
  • Kingdom Hearts - Every KH game
  • Media Centre - Music, movie and animes
  • The Worls of Sqaure - All non FF and KH games
 
For the early FF's..we'd have to mass move out all the early FF threads into a new area.

We could rename that area: o.o Not sure XD Early Final Fantasies?

Then..FF's VII-IX would be called..Playstation Classics

X-XII: Voices at last!

FFXIII, Agito, Versus, FFXII: RW - The Future Final Fantasies

AC,BC,CC,DoC,DoC: LE, LO : Compilation Madness

All 3 CC titles : Crystal Chronicles Trilogy

TT, TA (Plus sections for the new games due out) : Not sure about this one..

The FF related movies: Action, Kupo!

Haha..laugh at my inability to make good area titles ._.

FFA and MQ can be left on their own I suppose. XI, also.

^ This is a similar idea I had, but yours seems to be a lot better organised XD
 
You don't have to have fancy titles for each area, it looks daft imo. Just sort them out in a similar way as I've suggested and if people feel that the names need to be changed then you can do that after, resorting everything is more important right now.

My way would cut down the FF forums on the front page from a bloody ridiculous 38 to a more acceptable 12, whoever decided to have so many forums should be shot as well as whoever voted no to changing the scheme.

If we have a main forum of:

Oldschool Final Fantasy I-VI
subforums for each game:
FFI
FFII
FFIII
FFIV
FFV
FFVI

How about instead of just going by numbers though, we name the forum after a memorable place in the FF game.
 
Definitely reorganize it. It's a pain for me to scroll down, especially since I mainly use my laptop and it doesn't have a mouse. That's just for me though. I don't know about everyone else. ;) Also, some section tends to confuse me because there's like what, three or four section just for Final Fantasy? And plus its sub-forums...? Um yeah, those are my reasons.

I like the ideas here so far, good job guys! ^_^ Hmm, and Busta, that's a great idea too! I don't have a problem witt that, but then you also have to consider those who haven't played the games yet. How would they know which is which? But I don't know, it's up to Lisa to decide. :)

PLEASE dont re-organise it - im too used to the way it looks now and i think its great...but then again im only one small person lol.

I like moonchild's idea. Instead of having three different sections for spinnofs, original series and sequels, you could just make subsections for the original games.

And I still like the idea of having memorable place names as section titles.

I personally see that the main page of the forum has waaay too much clutter and section.


The front page has too many sections.

Sequels & Sidestories
Spinoffs
Film & Television
Related Series
Midgar
Spira
RPG Real
Farplane

THOSE should be the only forums on the main page. Once you click, THEN you should have a list of all those sub-sections.

Just my 2 cents. Having to navigate through all those sections just to see where I leave my topics is a huge hassle. At least with less sections on the main page I'll click on the section I know where my topics are made. __________________

I suggest just keeping all Finall Fantasy topics in one section, but divide them into forums, then subforums. So, instead of 3 or 4 sections for various FF's, keep them all in one section and then split them up - but keep them in the same fashion that they are in now.

Incorporated with Moonchild's idea, FFF will be flawless :cool:

I like this idea a lot. I'm no organizer so I couldn't have come up with this on my own.

Moonchild's or my idea or a combination of both would be for the best, for mine it doesn't have to be filled with sub-forums just as long as people are aware where everything goes it'll be easy enough unless they're complete idiots.
