((Those of you that do know will recognize that I haven't played in quite some time. It's time to shake the rust off of these old bones. Plus, I really need some fun. Back to business though. The following RP is based roughly off of the whimsical works and world of Mexican artist Vinnie Veritas and his CCC series. Roughly. I'm hoping that there are some other fans out there.))
-Welcome stranger! Judging by the fact that you're reading this, naked, hairless, and covered in black goo; i'm pretty sure that you're aware that this isn't your average greeting card. Judging by the fact that you're now standing (if you have the strength) in a spacious but oddly furnished (to say the least) apartment, loft, or (in the rarer cases) house, you're aware that you're not at home in more.
-First of all, you reside in the city of Renaiscido (I didn't come up with the), and is abbreviated and "Ren city". We're not entirely sure what the name of the continent is, or even what planet we live on. It would be a bit of an understatement to explain to you how big this world is, and you're more than welcome to ask us questions later.
-Secondly, to hell with home! You're in a much better place. Trust us on this one. You didn't belong on the planet earth, which is why you are here.
-Thirdly, the name tattooed on your chest and back is your new name. Don't worry because nobody is going to knock you on it, so just roll with it dude.
-Lastly, don't worry money or food. Your most basic needs are provided for you here by both the city (which is a semi-sentient being) and the planet itself. Food is provided for you in your refrigerator, shelves, and cupboards (Ask one of us later). Clean, drinkable water is provided in your bathroom (Everything works!). Electricity is also provided to you by the city. You should be able to find some clothing in your bedroom closet or dresser drawer. You'll find out about your new body soon enough...
You're going to enjoy living here from now on. Trust us. This is a world where more is possible than you've ever imagined! Here, you can be what you've always wanted to be and more! Welcome!
(A brief glimpse of our fair city)
Welcome!!!
From the Official Unofficial "Mayor" of Renaiscido and friends
-P.S. The place is yours. For free and forever. Enjoy!
...And that's my intro
Now allow me to explain a couple of things about the city and the RP itself. Keep in mind that a bit of this is outside information, meaning that your characters will have to ask other characters, or NPC's to obtain this information.
-I'll be playing the mayor
-Unless other made otherwise, all characters are citizens/residents/natives of the city
-Death, be it by disease, accident, natural occurrence, murder or suicide (...) is what brought you here. Though you aren't dead. You ceased to exist on earth completely on your last breath and arrived here. Here, you are reborn before death!
-The black goo that you arrive in this world covered in is essentially ectoplasm. Your body has been destroyed and recreated at the exact same time, and in an instant.
-Nobody remembers the in between crossing over between earth and this one. No one and you are not an exception.
-Many of the citizens of have lived in the city for hundreds of years. It's not at all surprising to find yourself conversing with somebody who lived 500 years ago on earth. Interestingly enough, there seems to be no language barrier, meaning that you'll be hearing people speaking to you in the language that you're fluent in. Even if they aren't speaking that language!
-The people of this city (including your character) do not age physically past their mid-twenties. Aging is not a factor or even a cause of death among the native citizens of this city. Yes, your character can live forever...
-... But your character can still be killed.
-All native residents of Renaiscido were originally from earth. Our earth in our Universe/reality/dimension. The only problem is that neither they, nor their soul belonged their. Most other normal people who do belong on our earth will recognize it on either a subconscious or instinctual level. The residents of Renaiscido carry the emotional scars of the abuse -both emotional and physical- fresh in their minds. As a result, the natives of Ren city are typically kind, loving, caring and accepting. Though taking advantage of a natural disposition for evil or mischief might result in you getting laid out (KO'd). It's not uncommon to invited to a total stranger's place for dinner and a good time.
- All residents are unable to reproduce -though both sex and romance are still possible- children . The city's population only increases through "arrivals", meaning former citizens of earth.
- The living quarters of "arrivals" are created out of thin air before the initial "arrival" approaches this world. The living quarters are slightly reflective of one's own psyche (the amount of space allotted to you reflects a bit back about your subconscious), though also suited for comfort. The birth of a new "arrival" increases the size of the city, which increases the size of the continent, which increase the sized of the world... which increases the size of the universe. The natives of the city always welcome a new arrival. But not so much foreigners and native from outside of the city. I wonder why (The real reason is because it can be come a pain to deal with all the extra land. Nobody actually feels the the planet increasing, but it does. Very slightly)?
-It is an extraordinarily difficult task to kill the citizens of "Ren" city. The reason being is because even the most timid of citizens is blessed with and enjoys the benefits of super-human strength, endurance (of both stamina and resilience), along with enhanced agility and flexibility. It is because of this strength that the primary and preferred method of transportation is by foot ("by foot" meaning leaping well over a hundred feet into the air, and running along the ground faster than any known land animal). People with the with the combat "knack" (i'll explain later) tend to be stronger, more dexterous and more nimble when in an combat and stressful situations. As a result (combined with the people's laid-back and pacifist attitude, emotional scarring, and fear of their own monstrous strength), fight between citizens rarely if ever occur.
-Magic does exist, but not in the traditional way that is perceived in our world. The only known magic in the city (and for that matter, most of the explored continent) is called "Citymancy". It is only usable by people with the magic "knack". Citymancy magic is cast by being read aloud by those with the "Knack". Those with it are the only ones able read it (which appears as a weird combination of words in one's own native tongue), and those without will just see blank pages on a spellbook. Citymancy is essentially communication with both the city and planet for a simple task (i.e. growing a tree or a wall of clay). It, alongside and sometimes combined with actual construction work are the only ways things are constructed, aside from just being and "arrival".
-A "knack" is essentially, an innate proficiency that the possessor receives an actual physical boost from when preforming. A person with a combat "Knack" becomes a death god when squaring off in combat against his foe, his moving faster, striking harder and more precisely than a volley of guided missile. A person blessed with the combat "Knack" develops insight and intuition about their own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of others (in combat). Though they only become slightly more powerful than a regular citizen... just enough to get an edge in combat against anyone unlucky enough to square off against them. A person with a cooking "knack" becomes a whirlwind of ingredients and utensils. A person with a mechanics "knack" is capable of easily constructing mechanized robots and other transportation. Giant robotry isn't yet an exact science, so no robot is constructed 100% perfectly. Said robots also inevitably being another reflection of one's personality and psyche. I'm pretty sure that you get the point.
-The only fashion style that exists in Ren city is your own. Nobody will ever insult you for it.
-Weapons are very hard to come by in Ren city, mostly because of the fact that the people of Renaiscido are peaceful, loving and accepting (but will still lay you out for being a dick). Openly brandishing a weapon out in public is a good way to get to get folks to run away from you and think of you as a total dick. You could say that openly brandishing a weapon in public without a good reason is illegal.
-Having a "knack" doesn't necessarily mean that you're confined to working a job within your innate field (though only magicians can use magic). Hell you don't even have to work if you don't want to. Though you won't get feed if you piss off the city. And you can always try doing something that you aren't gifted at as well. Nobody will look down on you for it either.
-You age (albeit at a slower pace) as soon as you leave the city limits, and only when you leave city limits. Your strength is merely reduced by half. Aging stops and strength is restored once you return to the city.

If you think otherwise, you'll soon find out the hard way.)
