So, I was wondering... do any of you have any headcanons for VII that you've always believed?

Like, I've always had the headcanon that cetra had their own language. It just makes sense to me that they would. They were supposed to be this amazing species that had magic abilities... so why wouldn't they have their own language to talk in, too? I know they can "hear" the planet, but I think a verbal language of their own would make them that much cooler.

So, what are your FFVII headcanons?

EDIT: also, this isn't spam. so no one-liners, please. I want a fun and serious convo about what we've always believed.

I do believe that it is implied in the game that the Cetra, or ancients, did have their own language. In the Forgotten City when you press [ENTER] on those big blue lights on the walls, it says something about not being able to understand the language of the ancients.

Vincent Valentine is Sephiroth's real dad and Hojo lied about being his dad to cause pain and drama between Sephiroth and Vincent.

I mean. Come on. Sephiroth and Vincent look so alike and Sephiroth looks nothing like Hojo.

I don't know if this belongs in THIS thread, but I've thought about Barret's limit break "Satellite Beam" I wonder... who is operating the satellite? Does Barret have that kinda hookup to have people launch a satellite into orbit that Barret can blast somebody that Barret targets when he reaches his limit?

The Cetra did and it was made pretty clear I think. When you go back to The Forgotten Capital with Bugenhagen on Disc 2, he lets it be known that what is etched on the side of the alter is the old Centra language. Someone who had previously visited that spot had deciphered a part of it and left a translation which tells you to go find the Key of the Ancients.

another head-canon I used to have was that Vincent was Sephiroth's dad... too bad CC retconned that it just always made sense, he was with lucrecia around the time, Sephiroth looks like Vincent, plus vincent's the right age.

Not trying to dis you here, but Hojo is his dad and always has been. It was stated in FF7 that he was:

(He resumes his button-pressing.) Hojo "My son is in need of power and help. ...That's the only reason."
Cloud "...your son?"
Hojo "Ha, ha, ha... Although he doesn't know." (He begins to laugh so hard he has to stop working.)
Hojo "Ha, ha, ha... HA, HA, HA...!!" "What will Sephiroth think when he finds out that I'm his father?" "Always looking down on me like that." "HA, HA, HA...!!"
Cloud "Sephiroth is your son!?" (Hojo resumes his work once more.)
Hojo "Ha, ha, ha..." "I offered the woman with my child to Professor Gast's Jenova Project." "When Sephiroth was still in the womb, we took the cells of Jenova..." "HA, HA, HA!!"
Cloud "I can't believe you're the one who did this..." "The illusionary crime against Sephiroth..." (Hojo stops and calmly turns to face Cloud. They stare at each other for a long moment, then Hojo begins to laugh.)
Hojo "Heee, hee, hee, hee! No, you're wrong!" "It's my desire as a scientist! Heee, hee, hee, hee!" (He stops abruptly)
Hojo "I... was defeated by my desire tobecome a scientist." "I lost the last time as well." (He begins to gleefully dance about.)
Hojo "I've injected Jenova's cells into myown body!" "Heee, hee, hee!" "Here are......" "Heee, hee, hee!" "...my results!!" (Boss battle with Hojo. He undergoes three transformations during the battle, each more deformed than the last, as Jenova's cells take effect.)

(Cid sighs.) Cid "%$#&$*&^%^"
Tifa "I can't believe Sephiroth is Hojo's son..." (The sound of the wind and rain continues as the scene fades to black.)

I'm not really sure about this "headcannon" stuff - it's a new term to me, but hopefully my example is on the right track. >D

When I first started playing FFVII, I saw Tifa and Barret as surrogate parents for Marlene. Almost like they were a couple, but without the romance (since I'm a CloTi fan<3 ). && then in Advent Children, I saw Tifa and Cloud as surrogate parents for Marlene and Denzel (since Barret was out of the picture by then).

Not trying to dis you here, but Hojo is his dad and always has been. It was stated in FF7 that he was:

Because everything that was stated in FFVII is absolutely true. Hojo could have been lying or maybe he meant he was the father in the sense that he sort of "created" Sephiroth by injecting him with Jenova cells while he was still in the womb. Now I know in Dirge of Cerberus it is implied that Lucrecia and Hojo got together and had a child but never explicitly stated. You never know with these Final Fantasy games.
