red alert 2 is one of those old classics that has withstood many newer more graphical games, but it is still popular, if you like this game and the add-on Yuris Revenge, then tell us about your views.

Also post your views on Red Alert 1 on here, this is the forerunner to Red Alert 2

There was actually a pretty good and immersing storyline, which is surprising for many RTS games. The graphics I thought were also pretty good compared to other games, and overall it was pretty addicting. Just adding in the Skirmish battles makes it pretty good imo.

10/10 as well.
A wonderful game with an interesting storyline. Very addicting just like Warbourne said. The cinematics were awesome(for that time) and they used quite famous actors. It wasn't a very tactic RTS but hey...it was fun so who cares about tactics? :P

Only RTS apart from the Dawn of War series I actually spent a lot of time on, both very enjoyable games with decent stories on top of it.

i agree that the enamies werent very tactical but i did like the fact that on brutal enamy, they actually rushed you to get a good defnece otherwise you got slaughtered and they did prioratise more on what building to destroy

Agreed. Maybe there isn't much wonderful graphics, but the gameplay is simply fun and addicting.

i liked the fact that if you wanted a challenge you could go online against other players and could download custom maps which give you the edge in battle, my fav map was the one where you could build as many troops as you wanted but the only to get money was to capture the oil techs near your base, they couldnt be destroyed and you got an endless stream of money

I've never properly got into Yuri's Revenge. No real reason for that, I've just never played it properly. But I used to spend hours on Red Alert 2.
Around the time of its release the AI was amazingly intelligent, but it became a little predictable and easy.
Second best RTS game out there though, I think.

yeah it does do when its on easy enamy, maybe if you tried the brutal enamy, then there would be quite a bit of variation of their tactics because they use different ones for different enamies, like the americans on brutal will try to get into your base fast and hard with a combo of paratroopers and prism tanks and also the brutal enamies will not be afraid to use their superweapons like the weather control machine and the nuclear bomb, or if your on yuris revenge then the psychic dominator as well, they all vary and it adds that extra edge to the game that others lack

lol dont worry about it, you can post your views on red alert 1 on here to

lol i think that red alert 2 is better because it is a sequal of the first one that was brought out and it has the same armies all the way through, unlike generals that is command and conquer but it doesnt use the GDI and NOD like the other ones, it just uses the usa and china to fight a bunch of terrorists that have their own base, it doesnt follow on from anything, it was quite a disappointment when i played it to be honest, i wasnt very impressed with it

they would have been better off keeping it that way as well, ok it does point out the current situation in the world but i prefer the fictional version of the C&C games

The Red Alert game is good but it's way too easy!
Choose the US and get many soldier as you can and win the battle!

I've never had so much fun blowing up an enemy's base in a Command & Conquer game than this one. The sheer joy and pride that comes when you defeat your friends in multiplayer mode has never been so great. Undoubtedly, the best RTS game I've ever played so far.

Oh and…the lieutenants made for real eye candy.
