Honestly...I wanted to play with Recks more than Vaan. I wish he hadn't have died. =(. It was quite sad. Also, there should've been more scenes of Vaan and Recks being together. Maybe Vaan having flashbacks about their childhood?

So, what are your thoughts about Recks?
 
Yeah it would've been good to have Recks on your team. Then again it was the death of Recks that made the story more interesting. It was sad though... and a little unexpected.

That would require Vaan to be in a cutscene. :P

I could see I would of liked Recks if had he made more of a place in the game.
He seemed more Mature and Battle Ready than Vaan.

He was the only reason Vaan wanted to fight, yet he was never spoken of later in the game.

Recks > Vaan
 
Recks did seem like a pretty decent character for the brieft time you played him and it was upsetting when he died. I guess its like the whole Sora/Roxas thing also.

no both should have, they both sucked, it should have started with Ashe, since she's the actual main character and not Vaan...
(he never says anything, and you have to wait untill the 20th before he actual says something that involves the story, while Ashe is blabbing all the time!)
 
Yea it would been have nicer to see more of Recks though i think he should still have died in the game. you know like Vossler died except Recks did it going one on one with Judge Grabenth as the party escapes him from time to time. But hey thats my opionion, Recks just should have been in the game more then he was.
 
I think Vaan and Reks should've switched roles. Reks seemed more serious and I liked that about him. I was really disappointed when he died - he would've made a better lead than Vaan (not that Vaan was much of a leader anyway.)

I'm not saying Reks is totally the best. (Balthier or Basch wins that title).
 
Balthier was quite awesome. Basch was too.

Recks would've been of a more fitting lead role than Vaan though. He seemed more mature and just...ready for anything. Plus Recks' name is better than Vaan's. xD.
 
Isnt his name Reks?
Oh well we dont know enough of him really to see if he would be a decent main character

I kinda want my username changed to "Recks" xD.

Anywho, he was a cool sword fighter and I wish I could've had him more on my team.

Hmm i wonder what his lv 99 stats would be compared to vaans :/
And i suppose he starts with thunder unlike vaan
 
His lvl 99 is more than Vaans. A friend of mines played the game by game shark and his lvl was about 500hp more than Vaans at 99.
 
Yea, Reks would have definitely made more sense instead of Vann (being that Vaan’s character really didn’t have a very strong reason for being part of the story, in my opinion). Anyway, Reks would make a lot more sense in the whole grand scheme of things.

 Neither one is that great, but I think I could stomach Reks character over Vaan’s.
 
We don´t know much about Reks´s personality but I would have his looks on Vaan and Reks having Vaans looks since Reks looks like lesser gay and Penelo should be brunette. We have had enough blonde male FF-leads so how about grey instead?

Squall was a brunette. xD.

Anywho, I think Reks would've been a better lead than Vaan was. He was more of a leader and took charge. Vaan does not seem to do that.
