You a realist or an idealist?

I think I'm a realist because I think it makes more sense to say that being is the first principal as opposed to knowing.

I'm both. I'm realist in my artistic sense (as in I portray pictures realistically).
That's probably not what you meant, but I can't figure out how to describe my other realistic ideals.

I'm idealist in my political beliefs , but more specifically in my views on world policy and views on social change.

I voted idealist though, since you don't have the third option.

I tend to think I'm more of down to Earth kind of person (I hope). So, I guess that make me more of a Realist.

Rydia, you have way too much Philosophy time on your hands. =)

Anyway, as for me, I would say I'm a bit of both. Well, I suppose I used to be an idealist because I did reach for the stars, and although failure was sometimes right around the corner, I still went on forward. I know that we are all errant beings, so I do believe that all people have a bit of idealism in them.

Same goes with realism. I tend to view myself as a realist now though because I just "deal with it." Deal with life, deal with what's in front of me. And I don't view myself as being perfect either (I'm sure no one does), so hence, I aim to be just the average in this world. Well sometimes. There's days when I feel like being an idealist all over again. So you see, it's all really a mixture of both. And I think I prefer it to be that way.

I tend to be more of a idealist, but using it in a realist sense.

I always look for and stress that people can better themselves under given circumstances. I always try and exploit it, but use it in a realist sense. I know I can't do anything extraordinary to achieve it, but I can use current things going on to attempt it.

I'm definitely both. It depends on situation. There are a lot of times when I'm just flat out realistic and other times when I'm much more willing to just say "fuck it" and take a chance on something completely impractical.

im more of a realist - its better tot be that way and accept the truth rather than try to think positively - as that wont change anything

i am an idealist mainly i very rarely make sense of a situation

is being an idealist mean not making any sense? if it is thats me all over for some reason i dont make sense its either that or i dont understand>_<
