Ramadan 2012

i work in a cinema and today a guy came and asked for a ticket refund for something he'd pre-booked a couple of weeks ago, because today is the first day of ramadan and he wouldn't have been able to see the film. any reason why, or is it just because it was later in the day, when he would have been able to eat?

Nah, Hollywood films in general that may go against the fast (to be honest, I don't even know why, maybe its cos of the liberal feeling of the films? idk. Never found out). Hence why most of all the cinemas in the middle east during the holy month only switches to arabic movies of religious backgrounds or comedies of mild, if bland, taste. It's also the reason why I haven't been able to catch Brave and The Dark Knight Rises in the middle east. Heh, piss all over the floor for me cos it depresses me that I wasn't able to catch em :'[

I can make it to 8:30 without eating if I sleep in till like....2 or 3. I'd start getting hungry by 6 and would just wait it out until the sun sets.

Other than that though, I wouldn't be able to do it. If I wake up at a normal time I'm usually starving by 4 o'clock. I'm not really much of a lunch eater... which would explain that. I can barely wait until 6 to eat let alone 8:30.

Idk. Dinner is technically considered in the evening. Though I guess for most people, lunch isn't in the day either. It's in the afternoon. :hmm: This being if you consider day = morning. Which I kind of do.

It's winter here, the sun sets by like... 5:30pm. Normal people have dinner around 6 or 7.
In summer I guess it's harder because the sun sets later. But I still think it would be easy to do. You'd still get a meal way before going to sleep unless you slept really fucking early.
