Via Google translate: "Final Fantasy 13," the specific circumstances of the development of open, from the original PS2 version later decided to go to PS3 development, of which up to four years of time, but the real production platform in the PS3 is only a two-year period of time , which also include the development of engine time, that is in the design process, system, etc. SE did not spend a lot of effort. This allows the development of the players come up with the finished product is highly questioned, indeed slightly less than good faith.

360 version of the same time, the development of a shorter transplant requires only a year's time, it reflects from one side of the engine, indeed the development of both in varying degrees of difficulty.

What? Only two years? So what happened to the rest of the 4 years since before 2006? Development of the PS2 version? I thought it would have taken much longer than that- with the development of Crystal Tools and having to get used to Sony's machine. FFXII took about 4 years to make!

SE did not spend a lot of effort.

I don't know how credible this report is- but if I am to take its word- how on earth does SE expect to be able to be complacent at this crucial time? FFXIII is their ultimate weapon- and as if their reputation isn't low enough according to many comments I have seen on N4G.

Less than good faith indeed. I can see all these negative comments about FFXIII on the horizon now. Oh well Square- you're innocent until proven guilty- just let me play the game first.

Meh, I just reported it because it was on the site xD Personally I think it's just one of these reports that are based purely on opinion, not fact. To start with, FFXIII surely took longer than two years, FFXIII was started straight after FFXII for the PS2 but only for a few months. The Crystal Engine may have spent a bit of time to make but I doubt it'd take one and a half years.

The lack of effort is bollocks imo, yes some people may not like the game, that happens with all games but I doubt they'd have hyped it to the point it got to and spent thousands on advertising if they "lacked effort" >.>

I didn't think it sounded very true either- but nevertheless I did take it rather seriously just in case it is because N4G (even though I have some disdain over that site at times) is a gaming news site :wacky:

Honestly, (and Ryan, I'm with you here- I hope you're right!) if this is purely just a report with no actual or sufficient credibility and written purely on an assumption or whatever- is this what gaming journalism has been reduced to?

I agree- SE can't possibly have put little effort into the game. The FMVs, the advertising, the soundtrack- if that is little effort, then all videogames have been made with hardly any effort then.

I kinda feel this is true, in a way. I don't think developers ever spend enough time on their games, as gameplay, sidequests, and even storyline is sacrificed to get the game out as quickly as possible. It's all a money thing, because people will still buy the game because it bears the "Final Fantasy" name. Not saying that XIII is bad as I haven't played it, just saying that I'm 100% certain all developers cut corners in an effort to make money, and Square is no exception.

Now, I don't think they botched the game. They made sure the game was beautiful to look at, no doubt. And the storyline seems to flow really well. I'll just have to play it for myself and see what the big fuss is about.

This IS Square Enix's franchise. Forget Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, and anything else, Final Fantasy is the driving force for the company. If they don't even try on they're, as someone else in the thread stated, "ultimate weapon", how can we expect them to make even the slightest attempt to make any other game good? Oh wait, they do.

That's why I call BS on this.
