Okay, the wrost game thread got me thinking. What Ive noticed is you get a good game on the PS1, say Arc The Lad for example. Good graphics, great story and likeable characters. then a comapny thinks "We have the technology to make a sequel or a game for the series now. Lets try it!"
DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What follows is horrid voice acting, bulky built characters, soddy storyline and horrible battle system ... sometimes, they can stick to the original, but not always the case.
But why does this happen? Off the top of my head I can name these:
Suikoden
Wild Arms
Arc the Lad
Legend of Legaia
Xenogears (Sorry, but the PS2 version was horrid!)
They were classic good old skool PS1 RPGs with brilliant elements to them and they get ruined. Im not saying PS2 games are bad, but when they are following a classic game from an old console, we seem to be let down!
