I am an aspiring writer, and my lifelong goal is to someday create the ultimate Final Fantasy 8 novel. I want it to be officially canonized by Square-Enix.

I want to know, though, if you people would buy the product.
 
I certainly would. But I'm a book geek lol and I love a good story. I would buy any Final Fantasy novels if they were published. It would be really interesting to see the story through the characters mind.
 
I wouldn't necessarily buy it, but I would love it if someone gives me a translated copy of the FFX-2.5 novella, even if it's in a 300-page pdf format. I want to see for myself just how hilariously bad it is.

But in general? It would have to be decent to be worth anything from my purse. Like if someone is able to write a Final Fantasy equivalent of something as well-received as the Star Wars EU Thrawn trilogy.
 
I think one of the main reasons Final Fantasy has the popularity it has is the way the story is developed in each one of its titles. It's like you're actually being told a fantasy story, with the exception you're the main character and you get to play through it (like most rpg's actually).
So... the way I see it, a novel could go really good or really bad. Personally, I would buy it if it had a reasonable price, because I like mostly everything from the FF universe. Maybe many people would. Thing is, it probably would be like any other fantasy novel in the sense that it wouldn't have what makes an rpg successful: the reader would have no influence in the story. So it would end up losing some of its FF magic.

I'm just guessing though. In the end, I think it's a good idea and you invest some time in it.
 
Anybody wanna see a short prologue of my fanfic?

I'm an intermediate writer (in my opinion).

It's only 450 words long. Really short. If anything, I'd love some critique.
