Ok, the lappy is slow right now, so I'll just say my party for Leaf Green for now:

- Squirtle etc. I never liked any of the other water pokemon in the 1st gen, so this was the best option.
- Ghastly/Haunter (but never Gengar. Could never be bothered to trade with people). I do like my ghost pokemon.
- Abra/Kadabra (never Alakazam...see above). I do love my psychic types too.
- Pikachu. Full Stop.
- Pidgey etc. I didn't much like the bird pokemon in the 1st gen either.
- I think I used to go for a random pokemon here, because I can't remember a 6th. I mean, I never used to switch my party once it was made...I have no idea :/ . I remember going with Magikarp/Garydos once

Edit: Oh, I remember really liking Vileplume, so I traded one playthrough to get an oddish. I thought a version called Leaf Green would have oddish as a catchable pokemon!

First, Pokemon Sapphire is my favourite game in the series and I did every single thing in that lovely game. Yep, I completed the pokedex all by myself. Kyogre is my favourite because it is just so cool and not to mention really powerful. I always loved how Kyogre glowed red and could always have the ability to cause massive rainstorms. It was the only pokemon with the drizzle ability which summons permanent rain. Same with Groudon who summons permanent sunlight with drought. Politoed has drizzle as its dream world ability now and Ninetales has drought. It is kind of stupid if you ask me. Kyogre is the god of the sea and Groudon the god of land so they should still be the only pokemon with weather abilities.

It is not really strange. If you look closely Kyogre has an "A" shape on each fin. I guess that is cool since my name starts with an A. I also love the colour blue. Dolphins are my favourite animals and Kyogre resembles an Orca.

Kyogre is overall just so cool. I love the way the mythological symbols glow when Kyogre is full of power. That had to be my favourite scene in Generation 3 next to the Kyogre Vs Groudon Vs Rayquaza scene.

I love the theme song for the Weather gods also.

Since my first pokemon were from the Hoen region my all star team consts of:

Blaziken
Rayquasa(is that how you spell it?)
Latios
Absol


But since my all star team and most of my pokemon got stuck in Platinum I've had to substitute a different team in the next gens. The fourth gen was terrible and I hated mostly all of the pokemon from it. However I've managed to put together a team of :

Ampharos
Arcanine
Dragonite

I find them okay at the moment. I also like to dabble with squirtle and totodile cause they're so cute. But other than that I haven't put together a team of 6 that I'm confident with.

I wish i could transfer my old pokemon to Black 2 so I can choose a main team and fill my pokedex

Adri, i meant more strange as in it's not a pokemon a lot of people would choose Usually people love Pikachu (like me) or Charizard haha I think you liking something different is pretty cool also you've got such a passion for the games haha it's awesome.

@Oli. If you wanna trade over the weekend let me know I'm free from Friday - Monday so I'm happy to help you get your pokemon off of platinum. TBH though I don't have a clue how to trade across generations so you'll have to help me understand hahaha

Woo hoo! Pokémon! I remember going to see the first film for my fourth birthday! Anyway, I'd love to join this club and discuss it some more.

Although, I've never exactly been huge into the strategic use of IV and EV's since my internet won't let me access the wifi- something to do with the security I think.

I've never quite understood EV and IV training hahaha so i never bothered with that either. I think it's made it way too hard D;
It's also really annoying that Heart Gold can't connect to normal wi-fi D: coz I'm currently playing it and it would have been awesome to trade with you guys in it without having to change my internet settings even playing on a 3DS it still wont let me connect where as Black 2 works fine online...

Speaking of Heart Gold, I am at goldenrod atm and it reminded me of when i found my first ever (and only) Shiny pokemon in the grass in the original gold. It was a shiny Drowzee. I was so proud and kept it in my party.

Has anyone else ever found a shiny pokemon?

I got a shiny Deoxys. My friend gave him to me though. One time I got a shiny Torchic though. I wasn't into pokemon too much at the time and I let this girl borrow my emerald, not knowing she would take it and save over my game. Terrible experience. haven't found a shiny since.

I found one in Fire Red! A shiny Pidgey. The gold looked pretty cool. Otherwise, I usually used my Action Replay. Man, the cheat codes on that thing were beastly.

You could put on all shiny, then turn on a certain Pokémon you wanted and get it.

Though, it did give them really strange names...


Nevertheless, I had a shiny team... Shiny Charmander looks so awesome. Then Black Charizard.

I've yet to find any other shiny Pokémon though.

mete. I used to cheat to get shinies too ;_; I'd make whichever was my favourite a shiny so it was special compared to the rest haha. But Drowzee was my my first and only legit one.

@Oli I remember i lent my pokemon yellow game out to this girl and I said 'pleaaaaaaase do not save over my game' my pikachu was so close to level 100...so what does she do she saves over it.... I cried for hours

Ok, here are my favourite pokemons from across the board:

Guardivoir - a range of move types, and psychic types are grand.
Jynx - I just liked the design. Not because of the blobs though.
Vileplume - all dark and mysterious. You can just tell it's brimming with poison and stuff. Not that I ever used to keep those stat ailment attacks
Candellabra (sp?) - Such an amazing design. Probably a bit blunt in terms of its naming, but still

I honestly can't think of any more right now, even though there are plenty more I like. Shall have to get back to you

Hahahahahah it is actually extremely easy and I know it like the back of my hand. IV training? lolwut. Only EV training exists. IV= Individual values. Each pokemon has 0-31 Individual values when you catch it. 31 being the highest and 0 being the lowest. Each pokemon can have a max of 510 Effort values. So let us say I am training Kyogre and I want to max out special attack. That is 252 Effort values in SA. I would have to kill 64 litwicks with macho brace and pokerus to get max special attack. If my Kyogre had a 31 in special attack with a special attack + nature such as modest, My Kyogre would have 438 special attack at level 100.

Since litwick gives one EV and macho brace doubles the ev's you get and so does pokerus... that is 64 Litwick. Now lets day I want to train for speed. I would only have to kill 32 Basculins since they give TWO effort values. Pokerus is extremely hard to get. It is like a 1/22000 chance and I found it back in emerald. Ever since, I have been passing down pokerus to the new games and ev training has become much shorter.

As for shiny pokemon? I have found a few. My luckiest chances with a shiny was about maybe a year and a half ago in white version. I found A shiny Minccino and then 2 hours later a shiny Solosis. I was hunting for the shiny solosis! It is now a shiny Reuniclus at level 100

Yup I can help on your friday... would it be ok if we do it around the same time as now but tomorrow? Don't mind if you want to make it a couple hours earlier or whatever but so long as it's about this time. Would that suit you? It's currently 12:50pm for me on Friday. So 12:00pm-ish on Saturday for me and your friday night hahaha (omg I haven't made this confusing have i? )

Your explanation has made it a lot easier though, thanks and wow lmfao two shiny pokemon within a couple hours of eachother I am jealous. I want a shiny Eevee so much....

Just click on the stats. I would recommend litwick for special attack since they appear 100%, Banette and Golurk in victory road 1F for attack, Basculin for speed, Frillish for special defense, Stunfisk for hp, and Yamask for defense. Why? These pokemon all appear frequently.

I heard that rumour before actually I think it's cool because Arcanine really does look legendary. I'm glad he's not though or I wouldn't be using him out of principal.
Exoskeleton did you want to trade now? I have a free hour before I have to go out.

Also I am having trouble picking which fire pokemon to use in my current HG game Should I go with Growlithe, Vulpix or Cyndaquil?
I love arcanine but a ninetails is also sounding good right about now :hmmmm:
