I have both of my ears pierced...once. I've had my right upper cartilage pierced before and it was sooooo irritating. They give you this crap to keep cleaning it with which I used at least 4 times per day... and I sware my piercing hurt all the time. I eventually got pissed and let it close up. It was too much of a hassle. I've heard that isn't one of the greatest places to pierce and can be easily prone to infection because of the lack of blood flow that the area gets....so I don't plan on ever having it redone.
As far as what I've wanted to get pierced..I used to want to have my navel pierced back in High School...but I've heard horror stories about having them if you are an athlete (runner especially) ...about a tearing feeling that you get when you run (and I happen to like to run)... and I forgot about it after I heard that. Plus I know I'd have to pull it out if I ever got pregnant. I'll keep it simple with just my ears. Anytime I think about things like piercings or tattoos the first thing I think about what about it puts me at risk for any kind of an infection...as well as how lovely its going to be when I'm 80...most of it doesn't mesh well on you as you get older.
