Playstation Persona

I just wish they could have made more guys available to date for the female player. Im gutted about Junpei as I love him to bits. It just doesnt seem far that classmates could be dated with the male character, but none are open to the female :( Thats a big peeve for me.

I was just happy that you could save
Shinjiro
. I liked his attitude and when he "you know" I was appalled and saddened. And in my opinion, the female MC has a little bit of male social links, but she has good ones, which balances it out.

What I like about this version, I'm unsure if it's in the other versions, is that you need to raise a particular statistic before you can start the social link with Mitsuru and Akihiko, they're both really interesting characters, so I'm glad the game makes you work towards it.

The only thing I'm disappointed with, so far, is the lack of fusion skills. I know you get fusion "items" or whatever, but it's not the same. Orpheus and Aspharas were so useful for a long long time because of their fusion healing skill.

To be honest, I'm just happy to finally chase after the main male characters, so I'm not feeling any disappointment so far with too many girls :lew:

And I'm enjoying the new girls so far. I feel like I can relate to Rio a lot and I wanna stand up for Saori.

@Mark: That's actually something that happens back in original P3. You needed to be a Genius to even walk home with Mitsuru >.<

But yeah, you need a certain amount of a certain trait/stat before you can initiate a LOT of S.Links >_<

I find it hard to believe anyone could max every S.Link in a first playthrough. All the time you need to spend to raise stats cuts in on the time you hang out with anyone D=

Thank goodness for the stats being carried over in a New Game+ ^^

I always focus more on the stats than the social links, especially academics. At the moment, I'm a few days after Mitsuru joins the team, and I'm on 5 academics, 3 charm and 3 courage.

Nearly maxed out the Junpei social link though. I haven't worked on many others though. I've got the Library committee and the student council... and that's it. I think.

Apart from the Death and Fools social links though, obviously. xD

I think you need to plan really carefully. In P4, I did a New Game+, with all my maxed stats carrying over, and Lucifer with Victory Cry, meaning I could finish a dungeon in one day, and a few Social Links still remained unmaxed.

And in P3, the original and FES you need certain stats to talk with he Moon, Sun, Star, Devil, Fuuka, Mitsuru and Yukari social links.

Whoa, anyone playing P3P, did you guys have to save people in Tartarus yet? That was such a strange addition to the game O.O

Although to be honest, I do like it for the story. I always felt bad when I see random people with Apathy Syndrome just standing around, so I kind of like the idea you can save a few of them.

Yes, I've saved about 4 of them so far.

I quite like it, really, it both shows how people can get apathy syndrome, and gives you another reason to go into Tartarus.

Normally, I just do all the grinding in one sitting, thanks to never getting tired anymore :wacky:

Ive not encountered anyone yet in Tartarus yet :/ Im on the 40th floor and nothing.

And Im trying to get my charm up to QueenBee to even get near Akihiko, stupid fangirls keep giving me nasties when I try and talk to him >:(

I have saved 2 peole so far. There is a third in there but I just haven't gotten around to saving them yet, It's another nice new side quest to add a bi t more replay value to the game I think. I can't remember where I heard it from but someone said there is a new S. Link if you save them from inside the Tartarus, is that true?

^ I haven't heard that, but whoay o_O

After Theo calls you up about people wondering Taratarus, when you visit him in person, he'll narrow down the search to specific floors. The annoying things is that if there's more than one person, you won't know which floor segment it is until after you save the first person >.<

But yeah, I don't dilly-dally with it - I save them all as fast as possible *shrugs*

I started up my S.Link with Akihiko, but I dunno if I started a friendship or lover's relationship yet. I read if you miss certain "flags" you'll just end up as friends >.<

How can I just be his friend after that scene at Shirakawa Boulevard? :ness:

I really need to start this at some stage, I was told though that the game can be pretty vague when it comes to abilities and such and that you only control one member of your party. So how did you guys find that whole mechanic, did it work or not etc.?

Well, in P3P, the applied P4's battle mechanic, meaning that you could not control all four party members, making battle's more skill and not a certain character casting a useless spell due to be AI. Before, you just had to adapt and set the battle tactics a certain way.

As far as working, it worked out for me. I was able to finish the game with almost no trouble until the final dungeon, where it got pretty challenging, especially the final battle. It was a very unique type of gameplay, in my opinion.

I played about 30 + hours of Persona 3 FES and couldn't take it anymore. I really didn't like how I couldn't control any of the characters aside from the MC. So I ran out and bought P3P. Sooo much better. I like how you don't get tired till you leave the Tartarus. They implemented the warp system from Persona 4 which is very convenient. I got to where I was in FES in 11 hours, and I'm enjoying myself. I'll just beat The Answer after this.

Side-note: It's awesome that they give you the option to play as a female character. I'm pretty sure we're going to have that in Persona 5.

It's such a shame P3P doesn't have The Answer in it, then it really would be the complete package. Although, I heard that The Answer is just a huge grind-fest >_> and after playing P3P, and controlling all party members, I don't think I could go back to FES D=

A part of me is glad the answer wasn't in P3P. That would have effectively pissed off many owners of P3:FES. Than what point was there to buy the first two games? >.<

Not to mention with the new FMC in P3P, the amount of extras they would have had to add to "The Answer" to take that into account, or that certain characters would be included post game might have been too much of a hassle :hmmm:

I don't know if I want to get P3P after FES, to be honest. I just like it too much as is, and don't want my opinion to change. I can deal with the... stupidity of the other party members in battle, and I'd much rather have The Answer as that bit of extended story, despite the requirement to level up a lot. I'm sure the FMC makes up for a lot of that, and I wouldn't mind playing for her sections and alterations, but... It'll kill my FES experience :ness:

In P3P you can control the other characters in battle instead of the tard A.I. I wish the Answer was included with P3P. But do try and get it, tis amazing.

Dude, do it. It's a nice game to have to kill time, or if you're on a plane etc. I don't see how it could affect your opinion on FES, if anything it should enhance it. Warp system, Persona 4 battle system, female MC, visual novel style game-play = DO IT. (did I mention new music if you play as FMC?)

If that's the case then why not just keep both then. Keep FES if you want to play The Answer and play P3P for The Journey. By playing as the FeMC there are quite a few extras making another playthrough of The Journey well worth it while still keeping the original story in tact. As far as the AI, like P4 you can keep the AI the way it is and not control your party members.
