Over Rated Game Series

It's not a series, just a compilation, but the VII compilation.

FFVII - Most overrated game of all time.
BC:VII - Wtf is it?
DoC:VII - Half Arsed.
AC:VII - Again, half arsed and pointless.
CC:VII - Probably the best out of the bunch.

As for series, Halo, I don't see why it's so hyped, sure the online may be good but the storyline's shit.

Seriously? CC was utter shit, especially with such a terrible villain.

I'm also surprised you didn't jump to defend me calling out KH as trash. While it wasn't intended as flame-bait, I figured it would end up that way quickly with some of the fanboys/girls here.

I enjoyed it more than VII tbh, you eventually get to the whoring point of VII where you play it again and there's absolutely nothing special about it whatsoever, there are far superior games, even with the FF series itself, FF may be SE's main series but it's by no means the best.

To be fair, I'd agree with you in that regard. And he didn't do that much in CT either since he was busy with work on VII. CT was pretty much all Sakaguchi/Horii/Toriyama, hence them being referred to as the dream team.

Guys, I have to respect the opinions of others, but I actually enjoy Crisis Core a great deal, I have played through it several times, and that fight scene between Sephiroth, Genesis and Angeal was just awesome.

But anyways, over rated game series? Hm...I only have played games from so many different franchises, it's hard to really tell with such little gaming knowledge as far as the history of games in the video game industry in general goes...

However, I have to say something, so I'll just say...Idk, Spyro? Games keep being made of it, so I assume it sells quite well, but I really don't see what's the big deal about the games. :/

And if it is because the main character is a dragon, it isn't all that cool in my opinion, and it looks like...a combination of a Dragon, Unicorn, and Pegasus.

Halo. Do i really need to say more.
The characters where horrible, i mean, master chief has the same background story as many other character. Superman and Goku. Planet destroyed, last of his kind ectect blah blah.
Most of the enemys where awful in every degree and all pretty similar.
The story wasnt the worst but certainly on the bottom of the scale.
WHY THE FUCK, i ask, did they make such a OMFGIH8THISGAME ending on 2 and bother to waste there time making such a shitty third game...

Halo is well and truly over-rated. It's just another mindless FPS that tries to bring in a meaningful story but fails miserably. I don't mind FPS games but when they try to be something more it usually fails. I dislike a lot of FPS game based purely on the following they receive and how some people consider them to be 'the best games ever'. Call of Duty game are fun to play multiplayer or for short periods of time but when people try to make out that they are truly great games I can't stand it, all you do is point and shoot, there isn't a whole lot to it.

I completely agree. I admit, the multi player is VERY good, but the storyline is completely crap. The ending was so bad i was like, "is that it"?

Thats the problem, it's people trying to make out that the games are more than they actually are. They are fun to play but they aren't the absolute pinnacle of gaming. The genre is limited by design but some people still seem to think that they are the greatest thing we've ever seen.

Well as far as overrated comes.. I would have to say the entire FF franchise, no.. I kid, I kid.

I would have to say Grandia. The game has a great concept but with most of the games they get boring mid way through. They have no plot development, just good combat schematics.

I would say pretty much all of the Medal of Honors. They are terrrrrrrrible. They should learn from Call of Duty and Soldier of fortune.

Halo is pretty overrated these days. Only thing they have going for them in the multiplayer aspect. Mostly kids play these days.

GUITAARRRRR HEEERRRRRROOOO - I'm sorry it was a good concept with the first two, but when activision whored this game out even further, it lost all it's appeal. To be honest, they need better bands, and more innovative follow ups. Leave it to activision to screw up another title.

I agree. I like the early Guitar Heroes, but all they've done since then is follow Rock Band's directions. How's about the normal Guitar Hero formula, with a new control scheme where it's actually BENEFICIAL to know how to play a REAL guitar. Boom. Cranks up the difficulty for most Guitar Hero players right there!
